a base ps4 with DLSS and other bells and whistles is more than fine for nintendo first party games. You just need another console or pc to play new third party games, likes always.

Capcom, Square Enix, Rockstar, EA, etc. are not going to scale down their tentpole AAA games to prioritize nintendo.

Then that’s unrealistic, because a handheld is just not going to jump two generations and still be affordable for most people, especially children.
I agree, but you should have told that to the people with unrealistic expectations, not me.
Leaks say it’s similar to the ps4 pro, which is a generational leap considering that the switch was barely more powerful than a ps3/360.
Naw, according to DF PS pro ain’t happening.

Looks like we are gong from slightly stronger than a ps3 to MAYBE a ps4. definitely not strong enough for most modern AAA games or a transformational change in nintendo’s games.

It Will be a switch with better performance.

Digital foundry said the hardware was on the level of a ps4 with added processing technology for Nvidia. They said it should be able to play any last generation game with no issue, claiming it's slightly stronger that a ps3 is hyperbole.

It’s all relative, but today merely being able to play PS4 games isn’t much write home about.

Remember Switch COULD play ps4 games if devs thought the time in optimization was worth it.

I just don’t see very many devs going back into last gen games and working on switch 2 ports especially considering the Switch 2 will have a low install base for a while, and by the time Switch 2 does have a considerable install base, current gen games will be reaching toward next gen, not trying to reach back to the PS4.

Switch 2 will continue to be a primarily Nintendo 1st party system for me, with indies sprinkled in and the occasional 3rd party title that I don't mind playing in handheld.

Just want to see what the new 3D Mario is looking like and if they have any new IP that grabs my attention. Hope the April release rumor proves to be true.

The switch could barely play ps4/x1 games in a severely diminished state. Some last gen games could only be played through the cloud on switch. It struggled to run ps3/360 games at times.

Digital foundry says the switch 2 should be able to play last gen games with no issues, and thats just from looking at the hardware, that's already a generational leap from the switch. With the extra processing features, it should be able to run most current gen games with cutbacks.
