Chris Rock has a hilarious bit about God coming to Hillary and telling her she’ll be the first woman President, how she’ll be running against a black man with the middle name Hussein and all she has to do is campaign in all 50 states, and he takes the bit through to Trump and God coming to her a second time etc
Reminds me of that gif of Obama and McCain, with bobbleheads, in the bike race where the Obama bobblehead fell off celebrating before finishing the race with bobblehead McCain easily passing by to win to make sure people voted and not think the race was in the bag.

i don't want them to end the filibuster. that might prevent real progress, but it also prevents real bad shyt. the republicans tied up obama's judicial appointments and the frustrated dems responded by only requiring a simple majority for judicial appointments and the repubs had a field day appointing trump's picks. don't think ending the filibuster won't have the same effect especially since the republicans have a built in advantage when it comes to congressional and senatorial races. there will be more times than not that they'll be in power. and apparently telling voters the truth that "hey it could be a lot worse than voting for democrats." isn't enough because fear only gets you so far. so in a filibuster free world telling the voters "you don't want the republicans to have the majority." will be considered fear mongering by democratic shills.
The Republicans are going to end the filibuster anyway the second they get the chance.

Sometimes I think liberals can hear and read all the rhetoric about how awful Republicans are and understand it. But they fail to understand the perspective of why Republicans are doing the things they do. Republicans perspective is that they are under existential threat by demonic radicals and any and every measure including violence is on the table. They are no longer thinking in a political terms. They are thinking in Civil War terms. They are reaching a point they would love to be able to gun their "enemies" in the street. The time for debate and following the traditional rules of politics is over.

Everything and anything for their side to win will be done and there is nothing democrats can do, politically, will stop it. Like you said, once they take office there will be no debate or consideration of whether they should remove the filibuster if it becomes an obstacle. They will do it quickly and move on enacting their agenda.

A case of incomplete miscarriage from 2012 that changed the Irish anti-abortion law one year later.

She was admitted to hospital, as it was determined that miscarriage was unavoidable, and several hours later, just after midnight on 22 October, her water broke but did not expel the fetus.[8]: 22–26 [8]: 29 [9] The following day, on 23 October, Halappanavar discussed abortion with her consulting physician but her request was promptly refused, as Irish law at that time forbade abortion if a fetal heartbeat was still present.[8]: 33 [10] Afterwards, Halappanavar developed sepsis and, despite doctors' efforts to treat her, had a cardiac arrest at 1:09 AM on 28 October, at the age of 31, and died.

I'm afraid it's not a question of "if", but "when" something similar will happen in your country.

I don’t think people are seeing the other side of the filibuster ending and the right abusing that

This. If you really think this conservative party wont gut the filibuster the second they have the opportunity.. then I don't know what to tell you.

I don’t think they are. Not for abortion.

Remember once they end it, it means they lose the power to paralyze the Senate.

The GOP’s goal is less federal power and more state control. Giving the Dems a chance to pass laws on simple majority would throw their do nothing agenda in the toilet.

They don’t want to take votes.

Nah, I think their goal is minority rule over the majority. Now that Roe is gone, if they remove the filibuster bill they will quickly do all the zany things they desired. The crazy wing is now the GOP.

How does that make you feel?
