Yeah but numerous incumbent Dems lost their senate races (Nelson, McCaskill, Donnely, Heitkamp) and others (Stabenow, Brown) underperformed their polls
Losing Senate seats in North Dakota, Missouri and Indiana is nothing to be ashamed about if you're a Democrat. All of those were states Trump won by a huge margin and our politics has gotten even more polarized since 2012 (the year Donnelly, Heitkamp was elected, McCaskill re-elected). Also, Stabenow & Brown underperformed their polling numbers but they still won by decent margins. Also, Trump won Ohio by 8%, so Sherrod Brown being re-elected by 6% is still impressive.

Bill Nelson was the only major f*ck up. Some blame goes to Nelson for not taking the race seriously until it was too late, blame also goes to the Broward County election officials who once again made a stupid ballot design and that ended up costing Nelson some votes.

Trump cant fill that seat Period. bytch McConnell made new rules in 2016, so in 2020, the house democrats have to show some spine and make new rules, dont allow trump to appoint anyone but Merick Garland until we know the rezults of the 2020 election, if not the house should defund the government until after the election or when Trump is out of office.

If Trump wins then he can nominate right away if not, he will absolutely not fill that seat period.

It may backfire but wat is right is right.

I think the most troubling part about this current situation, revolves around how judges can be “liberal or conservative”. If someone is politically to the left or right, then their ability to use their leverage when officiating speaks volume to the rampant injustice throughout this country.

the black cat is my crown...
What is likely to happen here is they push this through during the lame duck session...

Moscow don't have the votes right now...
if biden wins and the dems get the senate back, the dems better do everything possible to block a trump appointment in the lame duck.....

They literally can't do anything though...

they can do this....

1.. demand unanimous concent on every vote .. this would slow down and clog the process...
2/3.. block lifting debt ceiling/continuing resolution (budget) in the house (effecting shutting down the government) unless reps agree not to try to fill rbg's seat
3.. impeach trump again (impeachment hearings take priority over confirmation hearings)... this would also clog the process....
4.. threaten to expand the courts... mentioned in this thread already multiple times, basically go from 9 scotus seats to 13....
