the black cat is my crown...
None of that is BLOCKING a vote from happening, just SLOWING down the process...

Expanding the court can only take place if Biden wins and the Dems take the Senate...
correct, that is slowing down the process... remember, there is only about 120 days between now and inauguration..... you don't have to block it permanently, just gum up the works that long...

first off, under no circumstances should democrats allow trump to replace rbg before election day.... those steps i outlined would easily push republicans to wait until after election day...

after election, if trump wins, then dems need to step out of the way and allow him to replace rbg... he would have earned that right at that point and the amerikkkan people would have spoken....

but if biden wins and the dems win the senate, they need to delay any vote until after biden is sworn in...

expanding the court doesn't need to happen, just a credible threat of it happening... if you're a republican and the election has already been decided in your opponent's favor, which would you prefer.... leaving the court 5 - 4 right leaning or pushing your luck and forcing dems to expand the court so that it is 7 - 6 left leaning...? if you've already lost the election, you accept that the court will still be tilting in your favor not press your luck to make it tilt more towards you...

dems need to play hardball... there is a reason people are loyal to trump beyond just them being in a cult, it's they know trump will stop at absolutely nothing to push their agenda.... dems need to be equally as ruthless when the situation calls for it...

This would not have been an issue if Garland was appointed. The Rs decided to dispense with common sense so I say, pack the court regardless of what they do with the current vacancy.

12 SCOTUS seats... Make it happen Dems.

1. Reinstate Garland
2. Put a black woman judge in
3. Nudge Breyer into retirement
4. Appoint no one older than 45 to the bench

Do the Dems have the equivalent of the Heritage Foundation's list?
garland is 67 years old now. hes four years younger than clarence thomas. he shouldn’t be appointed at this point

which sucks for him because he never even got any kind of a confirmation process

Holder, Obama, Rice, Schiff, Booker?
i think ketanji brown jackson and leondra kruger are both very strong candidates. in general i think the appointee should come from the federal judiciary because they will open more positions for biden to fill with younger appointments.

i think rice’s strength is more in diplomacy and international relations. she probably makes most sense somewhere in the executive branch.

obama would be an excellent SCOTUS justice with his extremely strong understanding of constitutional law. the only issues i think are hes a little too old at 59 in my opinion, and if michelle obama did pursue a political career having a spouse in the supreme court could be controversial as a potential conflict of interest

wait a second, obama suggested a 63 year old? what the fukk :dead:
i think obama always knew garland wouldnt get a vote in mcconnell’s senate. so he was like a sacrificial lamb to prove how ridiculous republicans were being by refusing to entertain even an extremely moderate judge (he also couldnt nominate a more liberal judge because he needed at least four GOP votes)

i dont think clinton would have kept him as her nomination either if she won
