Let us be real here. Even the supposed "Mavericks" and moderates will not vote against this. Let us take feelings out of the equation and just imagine the intense amount of excitement and pressure that is occurring on the right, right now. This is a rare opportunity to replace one of the most liberal judges that was on the court with someone from the right. From the right's perspective, there is literally no argument not to take this chance to secure the court for possibly a generation or at least, a long time. None what so ever.

So, any moderate or shakey Republicans is going to find it very hard to justify to their party and voters why they would vote against seating someone. There is just no logical reason to do it if I'm a conservative and allow the chance to slip away with a Democratic win in November.

If Democrats were in the same shoes I would be burning mad if a Democratic senator refused to take this chance too. So, this shyt is going to happen. Just got to accept it.

The only option is to pack the court. The problem is Biden was adamant he was against this idea during the primaries. Even went as far to say in response to Buttigeig proposing to pack the court "I won't do that!".

Take this for what you will :hubie:

I’m assuming their bets like the bets of Mitt Romney and Lisa Murkowski, will be to have a veto on the nominee should Biden get elected. This moment is the most power “moderate Republicans” will have anytime in the next few years. Either the the Dems take the Senate and the Republicans lose all power, or the Republicans keep the Senate and the power all rests with Mitch. I think the play is for Mitt, Collins, Murkowski, and ???? to band together to get themselves sway on Biden’s pick. That’s the play for them because if Biden wins they are in the drivers seat but if Trump wins they are just in the same spot they have been in.
