They aren't. They're going to appoint a justice and not care if they lose power in 2020.

People need to accept it is going to happen because elections have consequences.

Further, any discussion of court packing probably won't happen until a controversial decision comes out of SCOTUS.

Sad to see people attempting to assign blame over death. :scust:
a 6-3 court is valuable enough for them to do that.

biden/harris probably wont get any nominations to replace conservative judges in the first term. just cycle out breyer. even with a second term they probably wont replace thomas

and they can still take a risk of thomas developing health problems and still maintain a 5-4 majority

imo the only person to blame is rbg lol

Their was a budget passed in September 2016.
It was a continuing resolution, but either way you’re right. He could have not signed it, even though it was something he had asked for early in 2016, before Scalia died.

At the time, it would have been crazy to do that, but in hindsight, knowing Trump was going to win anyway, he should have done it. It wouldn’t have worked, and Obama would have been a pariah as he would have been blamed for Hillary losing, but it was the right thing to do.

I generally don't agree with any of your views outside of how disgustingly abhorrent Republicans and the right are, but everything in this post is 100% spot on down to the atom.

If the chess analogy in political power is used here, getting a SC pick is probably the closest thing to capturing a Queen or two rooks I can think of. And banking on court packing reeks of vibes of us hoping Mueller was gonna come and save us.

It should be, but I just don't think it's good dem strategy to shift focus away heading into the election away from being a referendum on Trump.

And she certainly is the only person deserving of blame.

Stop trying to blame democrats. This is on the American people who voted Trump or withheld a vote for Hillary.

You wanted Trump.

Reap the whirlwind.
shyt is disgusting at this point

Dudes are just talking to talk now...Hillary would not admit on tape that the virus was worse than she was letting on

If Trump had the humility to admit that he too was at risk because he's a lazy fat fukk that eats McDonalds and golfs all day,
Yeah, yeah, yeah whatever you say. Your other post showing a Rose Twitter garbage tweet blaming Nancy Pelosi (who is not even a fukking senator) tells me all that I need to know :camby:
Red Rose Twitter was just in agreement that it was Pelosi's fault that the Rona happened

Not the President who knew and lied about it

PELOSI :russ:

I think us Democrats need to stop with the game theory. It's obvious we are terrible at it. lol

Roe v Wade
Civil Rights Act
Voting Rights Act
Brown Vs Board of Education
Social Security Act
Expand Citizens United.
Erode workers rights.
Basically this had been the strategy of Republicans since the Roosevelt administration to make the supreme court have a conservative majority to to overturn many of the reforms of the mid 20th century. And they will not stop there.

Thanks man. Needed that. I'm not 100% clued in on all of those decisions but here's my take on some

1. Civil Rights Act - Maybe I'm green but I don't think in 2021 the Supreme Court will overturn this. Doing so will be actual madness and political suicide to the US not just nationally, but internationally as well. This is essentially saying A-Ok to segregation again.

2. Brown vs. Board of Education - Same as the Civil Rights act. I just don't see how they can make a case to return to segregation of public schools.

3. Roe vs. Wade - I could definitely see them overturning this and moving the issue over to the states. My understanding, however, is that abortions as a whole in US has declined with the increased use of contraceptives and other pre-abortion pregnancy terminations (morning after pill etc). I'm also a man, so this doesn't really impact me to be honest. Maybe I'm naive but I think in 2020, with all the different contraceptive methods out there, abortion should be so far removed from the conversation. Again, maybe I'm just being naive. But as a man, if I'm in a position that I'd have to get a lady I was messing around with an abortion, then that means I was personally irresponsible.

The other decisions again, I don't know too much about so I can't comment.

you know honestly, i hope the repubs do it

if this is what it takes to kick the democrats in the ass and make them start playing like repubs, so be it :yeshrug: they can have the fukkin justice. who the dems can render irrelevant by packing and ending the filibuster

that quote from markey was an indicator. the dems will be out for blood to avenge this. and every step of the way they can justify it with "blame mcconnels hypocrisy"

Yeah im seeing a bunch of my ultra left-leaning friends start saying shyt like "we have to get on their playing field" etc etc

Its gonna be a shyt show

i would imagine that in 2020, polling on roe v wade is at least 60-40

republicans are playing a dangerous game with making the election a referendum on that. im reading all the "get rid of roe v wade" comments but those nuts are like a third of america, tops

Yeah and if popular vote was our system we'd be good now. But the electoral system places a disproportionate amount of importance in places where Roe v Wade is more of a contest than at the national level

Yeah. If I understand correctly.

Mark Kelly would take McSallys place immediately (or soon after) defeating her. No waiting until January 21.
This the soul crushing shyt. O well
when I heard the news last night. I felt uneasy because I know the consequences:snoop: save us jeebus
