The most misunderstood substances on the face of earth............

Psychedelics! Through the years maaaannnyyy myths have been spread through the population that has created a powerful stimga against them. But besides the great fun they can provide, psychedelics are valuable and helpful for one more reason-

Like weed, theyre theraputic. Research is starting to show that LSD and shrooms can prove to be the most valuable weapons we have in the war against mental illness. In some studies, psychedelics have completely eliminated anxiety and depression in patients who have been resistant to all other treatment. Its also well known that psychedelics can be used for soul searching, philosophical thinking, and general "outside the box" thinking. These abilities that psychedelics grant could be useful in many fields, mainly creatively. Of course there are risks associated with psychedelics, there have been many cases of psychosis caused by psychedelics, and of trips going very wrong due to a bad mindstate. However, it should be noted weed can cause similar effects in some patients, yet most people support medical marijuana (and dont forget, all drugs cause side effects).

Just from my experience, every time ive used psychedelics, ive come out with new life perspectives, feeling re-energized and ready to face life gain, and free of any irrational fears, anxiety, and stress. If taken in a good place in a good enough mindset, only good can come from a psychedelic experience

I just wanted to make this thread to aware people about how useful and important psychedelics could be. In the future, we may face the decision as to whether or not we should legalize psychedelics, and I hope this thread was persuasive!

BTW, you dont have to "trip" to benefit from psychedelics, sun-threshold doses are usually what patients take to get benefit from them without tripping all day.

I do think Psychedelics can open one's mind by exploring one's unconscious.

Here is Freud's iceberg theory of a human mind.

Myself I had several DXM trips which showed me my true desires about problems I had/have at that time (personal stuff). DXM trips are hard on the body (possible diarrheas and nauseas, overall body weakness, troubled vision, auditive and visual (closed and opened eyes) hallucinations and stuff) but I do believe it's a kind of ritual passage for you to overcome before reaching the truth : surrender the body for the mind to be free and clear.

And once passed this fight within your body (which coincides with the second plateau of the trip), you finally get to reach the third plateau and then, your mind is clear and you have access to your unconscious. This state of incredible clarity can lead you to fully realize how the ego (rightfully) blocks your inner desires or your inner wishes and how those two can be so different that the ones you have on the surface. It's a temporary state where things are so clear that I really felt that I was in the presence of the truth. Of my own truth.
The thing is, once it's over, the ego takes over again, and you're blocked again.

But our world is too materialistic to accept introspection and spiritual awakenings (by that way obviously because religions are welcome). One would rather be prescribed anti-depressants to calm the surface trouble than explore the depth of the mind and solve the real problem.
Plus nowadays, psychedelics are mostly used to get high just to get high or to have a temporary rest in a restless life.

Get high should mean to get a higher point of view of yourself not to be wasted IMO. Psychedelics done with a real introspective goal can be so revealing...

My mom found my magic mushroom growing kit and threw it in the bushes. Now she thinks I'm a drug addict :russ:

When you were taking DMT. What kind of beings were you seeing?

Not necessarily see anything

Ill close my eyes and see dope patterns and feel like im on a ride or something

More about the deep thoughts

I credit psychedelics for saving me from a boring ass cookie cutter life... saved me from being in unhealthy relationships

When I decided to become a real estate developer I was on lsd

When I decided to sell my car and move downtown I was on shrooms

They basically take you out of reality and make you "think" and "perceive" things that aren't real. People who can't "deal" with their reality turn to psychedelics, just faster and stronger than alcohol.

You are going to have to back that up and not just "state" it.

as someone who has taken lots of psychedelic drugs i 100% agree. I know people (including myself) who have had some stunning revelation about their life while they are on these types of drugs.

some people actually have positive revelations such as "my life isnt going anywhere i need to go back to school" or "i have a drinking problem i need to stop drinking so much" and sometimes they actually follow through with these things because they know deep down they need to do these things anyways. on the other hand there are people like john goodman who buys a plane ticket to florida while he is tripping cause he "needs to see the sun" or someone else i knew who thought it would be a good idea to sell all their stuff and move to the desert or someone else who became convinced they needed to start following dubstep/jam bands/EDM act's around the country and just do nothing but trip all the time and roll around in the mud.

bottom line, some people have the mental strength to get benefits out of these drugs and others dont.
