As a kid in the 90s I was really really into comics and I would say that the stuff I was reading then was more serious in tone and violent than the MCU movies. Even when I got back into comics in the late 2000s the seriousness and violence ramped up a bit. This movie was ASS... You can tell the type of viewer by which movies they like
Some people love comics as a movie... Campy, silly, impossible, but that's comics
Others just want a good ass fukking movie and could care less if everything is canon...
And those two people clash every single fukking time
It followed 2 mediocre/trash movies and it was enjoyable.I still don't get the massive praise for Thor Ragnarok. They leaned way into the comedy and felt like two separate movies stitched together.
Yea well clearly they got rid of all the violence unless it's deadpool or wolvie.....As a kid in the 90s I was really really into comics and I would say that the stuff I was reading then was more serious in tone and violent than the MCU movies. I get what you are getting at. I was just pointing out how the MCU was more light-hearted and kid friendly than the comics I grew up reading.Yea well clearly they got rid of all the violence unless it's deadpool or wolvie.....
I'm more speaking on people will love a shytty movie cause "it was spot on with the comics tho"
And hate a good movie cause "he doesn't act like that in the comics"
Ok cool, and this other character wasn't black before... but was it a good movie or not?
This will be an interesting quote to revisit next year.Let's go! This is going to be the biggest WB hit in a while.
Considering both FF and Supes are coming a few weeks apart makes this argument silly. This movie was ASS... You can tell the type of viewer by which movies they like

It worked for Ragnarok. That's my favorite movie. But yea, after that it's too much. Gunn has pretty good taste when it comes to not letting the joke go too far (Love and Thunder).I think it was the wrong move. Too many of the MCU movies had the same feel after phase 2
I trust in Gunn.
I'd say for the past 2 decades the big three has been (Ironman, Batman, Spiderman)Yea, i had a post years ago praising the MCU for doing the improbable... making modern Americans of all cultures and creed collectively root for an old-fashioned blonde blue-eyed aryan from 1930s America
Their depiction of Rogers was unanimously liked if not adored, whereas even to this day nyggas still arguing about Cavill's Superman. In fact I see we're now divisive on the divisiveness
So yea, it's gut check time for Superman and Gunn. Is it truly still a big 3 (Spidey, Batman, Superman) or is that just old nygga babble in 2024? Can't wait
