I'm on the 3rd world now. I choose to go to the rain forest (or what ever it's called. I don't remember. I know I had to choose either an ice/water level or rain forest type level).
Do the clothes make a difference other than aesthetics? (Now that I think of it, I guess I can answer my own question because I remember in the Mexico level I had to pick up the mexican outfit to go into a room that was locked and had a moon in it. So maybe the outfits serve that purpose in other levels. Do they do anything else? Like give you different abilities?)

Mainly aesthetics and for other moons which require that outfit. They're really cool imo.
Edit: Hah, I just got one in Tostarena for wearing the Sombrero and Poncho.

Have you ever tried swimming in the Snow Kingdom with the parka on? Cause in other outfits you get cold in the ice water and it hurts you

I have close to 600 moons and bought only the 1 required from each kingdom and even then I don't think I've actually bought 1 from every single kingdom. I intentionally didn't buy any until I found out 1 each is required from every kingdom to fill the checklist

There's so many new areas/challenges that open up once you beat the game. I'm finding dozens of moons and some are a bit challenging in the kingdoms.

My profile says I've played for more than 15hrs so I'd guess I beat it in about 10~12hrs? There's really a LOT of stuff to do even when you've finished the story as those shining metal boxes you see throughout some of the levels won't do anything until after. Also there's a few secrets at the end along with new moons to show up in the older levels. Lots of challenging areas too show up.

Me. I got my fix. I may dabble every now and then. But I had my fix

I'm at "30 hours or more" and I finished the campaign. Played casually overnights at work....
