That is true for all of Dolan's faults he does keeps his fukking word.

Also that free agent talk seems to be old news that he spoke on before camp. On top of that Woodson said something to the effect that Melo needs to talk less and worry about this season. While I do expect announcers and tv pundits to talk about it going forward I think Melo will be focused on his game. Dude did really well in Denver his last year there when everybody knew he wanted to go. This time dude just wants to get paid.

you cant give someone an average of 30 mill per year period...it's called a max...he can get 30 in one season......but he cant get that in every season...the other years are gonna be 15-18 mill.

The NBA is like any other work place ... you get incremental raises based on longevity and tenure.

Kobe's upcoming FA the lakers can pay him up 33M a year under the MAX, he can get 2 years 60 M deal from the lakers

Melo will be on the same boat, not this FA but the next FA
