In a way Shump reminds me of Starks more than JR. Started out as an athletic defensive specialist combo guard, that fukk-you intensity towards the opposition, instant fan favorite, streaky jumpshooter, major knee injuries.......

I'ono though. I don't think anyone has a right to "cry" about someone aiming to get his money in the market. But the way he plays it makes a world of difference. How many of you have been in a situation where a loyal company wanted to pay you to stay and another company (or companies) of comparable size was luring you with the promise of something new?

The way to get maximum leverage out of that situation is to keep quiet about any intentions. CP3 was well aware of this fact. LeBron James was not. Dwyane Wade was aware of this fact. Dwight Howard was not. Melo is tipping his hand majorly, in the same way he tipped his hand with the Denver situation. He would have had a bigger max deal if he'd waited out the season with Denver and had NY sign him outright. By announcing his intentions internally and then leaking them to the press, he killed his leverage. It reeks of stupidity. I don't think that's anything to cry about but it's like :dwillhuh:

Melo isn't leaving and definitely not to go to la . Having said that brining up the free agency thing before the season starts :snoop: horrible decision making why are you making a extra distraction for yourself and the team??

NY Post said:
The Knicks can also pay Anthony about $35 million more on a long-term deal than the Lakers and other clubs under the rules of the league’s collective bargaining agreement.

The Knicks are the only club that can offer him a five-year deal — worth approximately $129 million. Competing teams can go only up to four years — at about $96 million.

The only logical reason to bring up FA/opting out this early is that he wants his money and the knicks to improve the team now. The 2015 FA plan was based on keeping him at the Kobe Max (that he doesn't deserve but whatever) and getting another Max FA next to him and maybe keeping Tyson for 10 mil a year as well.

By putting this pressure on the knicks FO he is going to force them to trade for somebody now. The only name I can think of who would be worth the hassle and might be available is Rondo..... but you know in that trade they are going to rape the knick's :ld:. shyt the rumor was it was a rape deal before and that's why Glen backed out (which was smart cause who knows if Rondo is still at that level)..... and then got fired.....

The Only Way We Win The Melo Situation If He Takes A Fair Deal To Allow Us To Spend On Other Free Agents

We Over Pay Him We Lose

We Let Him Walk, Well We Dont Necessarily Lose But We Wont Be Getting Anything Out Of It

I Know He's Looking At The Knicks Like  "The Decision Is Yours" Nah Homeboy The Decision Is Yours, You Wanna Be Here And Win, Help Us Out, If Not....Well We Peaced Out Ewing Over Less So No One Is Gonna Cry Over You

That's All I'll Say About The Melo Free Agent Talk For The Rest Of The Season

Oh....is this why Shump is being publicly scrutinized by Woody and Dolan? Shump and a shooter for Rondo?

:ohhh:
