He's def on the decline. As fans, have to be realistic about that. Look at how his Games Played total and injury situations are shaping up. Paying him the max now puts all the leverage in his camp and ham-strings the Knicks (with no foreseeable championship results).Did this mufukka really just ask if Melo is a superstar now?
He had arguably his most efficient offensive season last year and his defense was an improvement from the past. He's def on the decline. As fans, have to be realistic about that. And dudes were looking at me like when I questioned Melo's health last year.HE LED THE LEAGUE IN SCORING!
As for his injuries, he's been consistent with the games he's missed in his career.
He's played all 82 games in a season once and that was his rookie year
I'm talking long-term outlook, y'a -- Melo is the league's scoring leader. That's fresh. Bravo and all 'lat.
A DEFINITE Melo re-up for max money is still not a smart move with a player turning 31 at the start of that contract. I'm talking NBA trends here, all throughout history. After 1000 games, most guys, especially high-usage guys see their numbers slip...and it's not like he has other skills that will help him age gracefully while introducing another big-time player into the picture. He scores...when he's older, he'll score less. Just truth. The dude game cold now...but I been a Knick fan my whole life without seeing a ring, and it doesn't look like he's delivering one of those.
Or maybe a bunch of players with the salary he takes up. Not like it hasn't been done before. He'll be overpaid going forward, but it's one of those things you charge to the game unless you have someone in mind ready to replace him and his production.

Rondo on a 3-4 year, DeMarcus Cousins may be a free agent, Aldridge, not to mention guys like Bosh, Granger and other talented pieces who may be around next summer. It's plausible 2-3 of those types will be around and, if the Tyson Chandler situation is handled properly, we could nab 'em.
One issue is that Mills is a crony...he was shuffling the Knicks through the Anucha Brown-Sanders/Isiah mess (threatening her job if she reported harassment) and he's mostly a money guy (Marketing experience, not much personnel stuff).
GG had enough success with the shyt shop he was handed. I would say the same for Walsh too, actually, and anyone who's brought max guys in (TRUE franchise max guys) under Dolan. The players think he's good for lining their pockets but they know the Knick organization is terrible and there's no chance to win. NO OTHER TEAM would touch Amar'e with uninsured knees and Walsh dug into the scrap heap for him b/c it was the only option we had and Dolan was just itching to throw money at someone.
The issue is we don't reward smart personnel moves and creativity like the Spurs, Rockets, Thunder, Nets, Warriors... We punish people who do their jobs well by making them fear for their jobs tomorrow. Have you ever worked in a company like that? It's a terrible way to build. That's why we haven't built much but playoff exits and overpaid teams.

Dolan be checking to see how lackey they are at different intervals. Glen must've missed a JD & The Straight Shot tour date or some bullshyt.Grunwald was certainly a Dolan lackey, but he was a basketball guy who was allowed to give his opinion. I think what happened is Grunwald and Dolan couldnt have disagreed more on the 2015 season and thus....bring in another lapdog. A recycled lapdog.
