if you think lebron going to miami had nothing to do with riley you are very wrong. a Gm does make a difference. I'm not sure of mills relationship with these top players but if he has a good one and hes serious about making a super team, people will listen

i think it's dumb to fire glen but on the other side, homie seems like he has a bland personality lol. Cant really see him recruiting any stars

As I said earlier, Steve Mills is a nobody and Pay Riley is well...Pat riley.

This isnt college. The Knicks dont play in Minnesota. NY recruits itself. You need someone as the GM that's willing to tell James the dunce to go play with his remote control cars while adults make the basketball decisions. All this is move is Dolan being a stupid fukk. The Knicks have no cap space to make a super team and Dolans infatuation with Isiah is on par with Rex Ryans infatuation with feet. Its bizarre.

Just saw this shyt, as a Rangers fan I know how this Dolan shyt feels :snoop:

I really hope that they didn't do this because they think Mills is gonna bring them a superteam in 2015. If players are gonna come it's to play for the New York Knicks, not because fukkin Steve Mills is the GM now :heh:. That being said all he's gotta do is not fukk up their cap situation for 2015 and they will have a clean slate to build the team they want. Question is do you want a dude like Steve Mills to create a team from scratch around Melo?

And if/when Isiah starts poppin up to do some "advising" the real fukkery will begin :dead:Jerome James sittin by his phone waitin:skip:

Question is, why would you want to build a team around a 31 year old Melo?

Well that's another question, but I don't think there's any doubt he's signing another Max deal next summer.

They could do it, but they cannot expect him to be the #1 and only scoring option for 5 seasons and just throw shooters and a big around him. That may have some success now but they can't expect him to be dropping 30 a game wit a good shooting % 3-4 years from now.

There's a 100% chance Melo gets max money next summer. The problem with that is, there arent any other superstars coming with him. And at 31, is Melo even a superstar? Is Melo even a superstar now?

Yes and yes. A flawed one, but a superstar nonetheless.

If Melo wasn't here and the Knicks were at this same point, Knicks fans would be bytching about how they never pursued him.

You have no idea what the Knicks would be without him. All I know is the Knicks havent made a significant draft pick...since....hell...?

I'm in the Pro-Melo camp so I'd say he is a Superstar, but I think his shelf life isn't long to be the top guy. When his quickness goes he's basically a spot up shooter with little to no defense, and there's a high chance that's happening in this next deal.

It seems like the Knicks plan is sign Melo, patch it together for 2014, then go into 2015 trying to get guys like Rondo, Love, Aldridge, Marc Gasol. And of course the Dolan pipe dream that LeBron opts in for 2014 so he can come play in NY 1 year later.

would you stfu. You were bytching and crying when Grumwald was here, never saying anything good thing about him, now you're crying and whining that he's gone. All you do is talk sht. Never anything productive to add to the discussion....just blindly bash melo and dolan incessantly, without any insight provided. I think I speak for most here, when I say that your presence here is completely unwelcomed. You're no different than the ATL/Miami trolls.

You cant get stars to come here if you dont have cap room. Knicks had zero flexibility throughout the 2000's. No cap, no picks, bad contracts.

Lebron was never coming to the Knicks. Jimmy had to have Melo...and now where headed back down the same path..
