You have no idea what the Knicks would be without him. All I know is the Knicks havent made a significant draft pick...since....hell...?
Knicks would be getting lottery picks. Picking from a lot of scrubs like Shabazz Muhammed and Austin Rivers. I rather have Melo

Come on Trip. Shumpert? He was the lowest draft pick since the Jordan Hill debacle, but outside of Hill and Gallinari, every other pick was in the 20s and up...and the years we didn't have picks was because of other trades.

The whole Knicks and draft picks argument is so ridiculous. The only leg that can stand on is the Jordan Hill pick...and that was 1000000% Donnie Walsh, every "Knick fan's" BFF.

Iman Shumpert? Come on.

He's a good player. Im talking about a guy who's going to be the guy. Every other team that's competitive has one of those guys. The Knicks have made about 13 years of absurd decision after absurd decision and they're back to square one again. The decisions the Knicks made prevented them from ever having a good pick. The Melo max deal will be the icing on the cake.

Dolan makes Woody look like a genius. The thing is with the Knicks is they play in the middle of Manhattan and they'll always attract a crowd. The rich folks that frequent the MSG dont even know who Dolan is.

You cant get stars to come here if you dont have cap room. Knicks had zero flexibility throughout the 2000's. No cap, no picks, bad contracts.

Lebron was never coming to the Knicks. Jimmy had to have Melo...and now where headed back down the same path..
not really..we have tons of cap room in 2015 to try again. melo + cap room to sign another star or two>waiting to get lucky in the lotto

How Come Other Teams Fans Can Chill And Talk Basketball And We Always Gotta Deal With Drama And Fukkary!? :sadcam:

At what point does it go from "Trip is such a fukking troll" to...":ohhh: he was right" about this operation.

I try to tell it like it is. If Tebow and Tannenbaum were brought back to the Jets Id be giving them same business.

What star? Rondo?

Melo's holding the ball in the half court with Rondo?
depends what players opt-in or opt-out, the point is they wont be capped out and will have opportunities to improve the team either through signing someone or trading for one.

So you want the Knicks to have cap space but also have a pick to draft "the guy" despite not having a high enough pick to do so.

I think what hes saying is the knicks dont have that homegrown star talent that every team has thats either old(duncan, kobe, wade) to new (curry, durant, wall) They are always building through trades.

Yes. Its Dolan. Its always Dolan.

Problem is, he answers to no one because he has a stadium square in the middle of Manhattan.

We're the Mecca of basketball and I also think since we don't partake in replying to troll threads and keep it in house with Knick brethren threads they get

it's too early in the year for this shyt

But since Grunwald was just a figure-head and really didn't have any control over any decisions, I don't see what the issue is :troll:

But since Grunwald was just a figure-head and really didn't have any control over any decisions, I don't see what the issue is :troll:
One issue is that Mills is a crony...he was shuffling the Knicks through the Anucha Brown-Sanders/Isiah mess (threatening her job if she reported harassment) and he's mostly a money guy (Marketing experience, not much personnel stuff).

GG had enough success with the shyt shop he was handed. I would say the same for Walsh too, actually, and anyone who's brought max guys in (TRUE franchise max guys) under Dolan. The players think he's good for lining their pockets but they know the Knick organization is terrible and there's no chance to win. NO OTHER TEAM would touch Amar'e with uninsured knees and Walsh dug into the scrap heap for him b/c it was the only option we had and Dolan was just itching to throw money at someone.

The issue is we don't reward smart personnel moves and creativity like the Spurs, Rockets, Thunder, Nets, Warriors... We punish people who do their jobs well by making them fear for their jobs tomorrow. Have you ever worked in a company like that? It's a terrible way to build. That's why we haven't built much but playoff exits and overpaid teams.
