Couldn't even watch TV until I was in HS. By that time I gave no fukks. TV for youngsters is nothing but mental conditioning and programming.

then you got all the athletes on tv

outside of that i mainly watched seinfeld, gundam wing, pokemon and dragonball z which didnt exactly slight blk ppl

This is something I've always assumed (and data have supported for some time). I much prefer shows and movies with positive portrayals of black people. For example I thoroughly enjoy Black-ish but have never seen an episode of Empire. Of course, what makes money is watching blacks tear each other down. It's what makes the 'mainstream' feel good and sadly many blacks have drank the Kool-Aid.
Its funny boondocks made a episode about this, when huey was watching the most ignorant black representation(which is the most) on America television for a week or so

Thread reminds me of the black characters on The Walking Dead :mjpls:

I heard SoA also writes there black characters pretty bad.

That's two of the most popular shows on TV right there.

I can totally see how this is true and I'm a grown man, b2k never got the hype of those cac bands, those "No Flex Zone" kids don't get the hype of One Direction, etc.

The individualists in this thread talking about what shows THEY watch are kind of missing the point.

The point is, television and the media generally depicts blacks as inferior to whites. If thats the kind of content produced empirically, thats gonna be the kind of content viewed empirically. So the self esteem of blacks are empirically effected.

Im happy you're different but if you want other blacks to be as great as you, the images have to generally change because while certain individuals can and will have certain traits, the traits of groups however are influenced by environment, which media is a part of.

Hope I did a decent job explaining this to you guys.

You have to counteract the programming they feed to the kids. At my house we didn't even feel right cursing, my parents didn't need to tell us anything
