well dragons dogma has actual combat at least. unlike BG3...So that's not fair to dragons dogma when they are attempting actual....gameplay lolI’m interested in other AAA franchises having to step their game up because of this.
Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Dragon’s Dogma are all on notice.
If their shyt ain’t poppin at least graphically
I already know they won’t have nearly 1/4 the customization and interaction

The only thing this game is “raising the bar” in is story content, writing, dialog, presentation, etc.
Which is cool, but it’s also why devs are pushing back a little. Every game can’t and shouldn’t be expected to have this much story content, dialog etc. It worked out for Larian, but other devs shouldn’t be chasing that standard. They should build their games to their own strengths.
Dialog optionsIt raised the bar for all role playing systems

Again it’s just a wealth of content. Nothing is overly unique or innovative that we have not seen in other games, there’s just a lot of it.Everything, dialogue, problem solving, quest design, exploration, combat strategy, party management and interaction, relationships, etc.
Everything that makes a role playing game a role playing game

But that’s stupid. We’re not talking about it being unique, we’re talking about it raising the bar. If other rpg makers can’t do half of this stuff on par people are going to start to take notice
Games don’t need hundreds of hours of dialog/story content to be good.
No they don’t.Thats what people want in role playing games.
No they don’t.
Lots of great role playing games that are nowhere near the size of BG.
