Don’t put me in this- I’ve been giving him advice for 2 years now again and again. I literally gave him the blueprint for different options that he could pursue and paragraphs on paragraphs of job descriptions in the legal field. I can’t anymore. There’s only so many times that I can repeat the same. Now he’s at an extreme disadvantage bc of Covid - law firms/corporations are either going through layoffs or furloughs, offices are only opening up at 25%- he should consider it a blessing to even land a contract position at this time. He really thinks he will land a $200k position when even partners are talking a 25% pay cut reduction and associates at 15%, bc clients can barely afford the building rates due to covid closures. Many firms pushed back their Fall associate start dates until January 2021. He doesn’t listen to his own detriment. I can’t help anyone who won’t help themselves.

A law degree is hella versatile. Flip that into something else. What? I don’t know!!!!
Anything - he could teach junior high or high school for the top end of the teaching scale for that and still look for a law job, govt, IT/Tech is always looking to people with tech backgrounds, he’s been told several times that he may have to movie to another city or region to expand his opportunities. DC/MD is flush with tech and ip industry jobs with a legal background - (but he doesn’t want a desk job), finance, non-profit. Amazon corporate is setting up in multiple Cities. Tech companies like google due to covid are setting up satellite offices- remote work hybrids so he wouldn’t have to deal with interaction every day. Tech support and IT Network enterprise along with Accounting are black dominated sectors in the dmv and nyc; now couple that with a law degree and field specific certifications - after a few years; there’s law firms that would create a position for him bc they need specialists. Legal analysts positions are hiring. Fuk it - I’m done.

Craziest comment I saw was some lawyers are barely making 40k and u add in over 200 k in student loan debt is cray
Most lawyers are barely making it. I do online advertising ( mainly google adwords )and the majority of my portfolio are lawyers. They are desperate for clients. They know they have to pay for advertising and it kills them but they do it. Once I get them reliable leads they immediately pump more money in.

When the COVID shyt shut down courthouses nation wide they all panicked and shut down their advertising which is to be expected. I did not even worry because as soon as they started talking about opening back up they all came back because they need that phone ringing.

Sorry to hear about that, breh. All of my (black) friends from college who finished law school have had good careers, and none of them went to top schools. Have opportunities really dried up over the last 20 years in the legal field?

Move abroad to a nation that handles lots of American visitors, ie West Indies, Latin America etc. They always require legal services.
Get your law license that enables you to operate in a foreign land interpreting local laws for Americans.
That is how you level the playing field.

You could apply to be in JAG in the military I believe.

I don't know much about the Law industry, but these are the first 2 things I thought of.

There's options, you just have to think outside of the box. I can imagine there's money to be made...somewhere.

Stay up tho...I hate seeing anyone in student loan debt hell. I was there for a minute myself.

This nikka hasn’t passed any bar exam, complains constantly about cacs at his law school/refused to network like the other c00ns(his words), and said his grades were shyt. But expects a 6 figure job out of school. If y’all don’t stop falling for these trolls :laff:
