OP I know what you're talking about but my concern is at this point you have still not seen the writing on the wall and created your strategy of who you will do what you need to do. Seems like you are in an eternal state of rage

People are being obtuse. A good example is Clubhouse. Wasn't it supposed to some elite networking invitation type of shyt and it ended up just a gossip app?
club house was marketed by celebrities though not professionals. they damn near sold it as an exclusive in the know dating app when it initially dropped it was never sold as a business networking portal but it could be that easily.

Mindset from the OP is a huge in my eyes. Boils down to looking at brothers with the view of what you can get out of them.

Smart people recognise the need to cultivate friendship and respect. You want to move away from a position where you're weighing up what everyone in the group does.

You develop friendship, respect, familiarity etc. people won't want to knife one another in the back or fukk off to the highest bidder.

This. I run a black networking group for filmmakers in my city, when it started 80% of the group wasn't plugged into any paying film work at all. Fast forward a year later and literally dozens of people got their first paying film gigs out of our group and continue to get paid work.

If even 20% of the people in the lawyer group OP talked about are employed in the field then he's a fool to not lean into it.

You’re pouring jelly on yourself. Those same professionals who don’t have ‘power’ today could have some tomorrow.

You’re going to need to get in early with people instead of trying to latch onto them once they are already established.

Pay it forward.

i get what he saying but if they are all young and genuine about what they are trying to accomplish, then it would behoove him to network with them and just enjoy the outings

That type of shyt is cool for cacs because people in those groups have actual power. How you networking with a bunch other people begging for jobs?

I bought this point up when arguing with someone if there was any real value in joining a Greek org in college
The amount of akas/deltas/kappas that I know out here struggling :dead:
Dummies out here paying dues, paying $500 to attend the annual aka event but can barely pay their rent :snoop:

That being said I’m in a black swe Facebook group. Bout half us in there experienced making 200k+. Half just trying get on. I ain’t see anyone get a job thru the group yet :hubie:but a lot of info is shared and you can always use someone as a referral at the very least I guess
