I actually played some SF4 randomly in the arcade today before going to a football game. Man it feels so weird playing that game now after playing SFV. Game looks so smooth when pros play it, but it felt janky as fukk for me. Partly us of the american arcade stick and buttons. I need my japanese Sanwa shyt. :mjpls:

What the fukk is wrong with this game's wakeup? How can a strong jab stop my shyrokun? I just don't understand the mechanics in this game it's fukking infuriating to have your shyt beat out. The priority is fugazi.

Cuz it's frames over priority. Unless what you're doing has start up invincibility. Not all dragon punches are created equal.

That's not how they did it in 4 :dame:

The wakeup is a crucial tactic in sf to get people the hell off you. It invokes fear. They need to fix it.

There's a difference between mashing dp off of reads and mashing dp just because that's all you know what to do. :dahell:

pretty much stopped playing this game online retiring in silver because of how s*** the connection has been for me :manny: like I literally won't attempt to play through the teleportation stutter in sf5.

Not really. And frames has always been a part of every fighting game. You don't have to be all by-the-numbers to see what moves are fast enough to beat other moves and counter tho. I know I've never studied frames and still always did well, shyt is plain to the eye to see in most cases, especially in this game where animations are very smooth and nuanced. There's still a matter of priority in the game and it's very simple to understand, Heavy>Medium>light. Basically, if two moves come out at the same time, if one is stronger attack that the other, then the strong attack is going to win. This is for any move that doesn't have invincible start up, which only a few select moves have that property and thus, have the crush counter property added to them (moves with any invincibility frames, not just start up, have crush counter properties added, except for supers) . And zoning is still omnipresent in this game, so Ieuno why you brought that shyt up.

It's still gimmicky as fukk and only in IV was it so crucial and reliable to that extent. Every other SF game, if you weren't pitch perfect with your reversal timing of DPs on wake up, you got punished for trying it. V has returned back to that philosophy and then some with crush countering.
