That's not how they did it in 4 :dame:

The wakeup is a crucial tactic in sf to get people the hell off you. It invokes fear. They need to fix it.

That therein lies your first problem. Also, how they did it in 4 wasn't how they did it in 3, 2, alpha, ect. So to that, your point there isn't one of merit. Each new game in a series changes some things up and either add or take away previous mechanics to make a new game (also usually for the sake of improvements and balance). Lastly, 4's mechanics were the bigger anomaly in SF's existence than that of V's.

There are some legit things that need to be addressed in V, but this "issue" you mention is not one of them, that is your issue (and people that feel similar) all ya'll own. You need to fix your perspective and understanding of the game if that's the case or just say it's not for you.:yeshrug:

Not really. And frames has always been a part of every fighting game. You don't have to be all by-the-numbers to see what moves are fast enough to beat other moves and counter tho. I know I've never studied frames and still always did well, shyt is plain to the eye to see in most cases, especially in this game where animations are very smooth and nuanced. There's still a matter of priority in the game and it's very simple to understand, Heavy>Medium>light. Basically, if two moves come out at the same time, if one is stronger attack that the other, then the strong attack is going to win. This is for any move that doesn't have invincible start up, which only a few select moves have that property and thus, have the crush counter property added to them (moves with any invincibility frames, not just start up, have crush counter properties added, except for supers) . And zoning is still omnipresent in this game, so Ieuno why you brought that shyt up.

I'll body you nikka..I'm the KING..RUN UP:pacspit:

But if you think of the logic behind such an attack it just doesn't make sense. The dp is a risky maneuver in itself and leaves you absolutely vulnerable to any attack if miscalculated. Now it has a frame disadvantage too? :what:

Tbch I think this game was an overall fukk you to shoto characters. Damn near everyone has a cross screen grab/attack and You can stop dp with a jab. Taking away the effectiveness of projectiles and dp what do shotos have up their sleeve? :dahell:

I'm not really saying it's not for me because amongst all the bullshyt I have fun. But there is some questionable shyt when it comes to shoto characters. It proves it even further that Diago didn't even make it top 8 in evo. Hell no ryu was top 8. Questionable. :jbhmm:

The shotos are both high tier characters in this game what crack are you smoking? If you want to dp on wake up use meter. If someone has their meaty timing down that's on you for not using meter. You actually have to time your fireballs and can't just throw them all brain dead.

Diago just isn't as good and Tokido got out played.

This dude crying about a dp getting stuffed when that shyt is already rare as hell.

Try playing a character with no wake up options and no get out of jail free card. You probably miss fadc too. Smh.

Not really. Ryu's still considered among the top 3 (most feel he's top dawg entirely and for good fukking reason & has tourney wins to prove it) and Ken is considered in about the top 5 or at the very least, 8 (tho I think now most figure him to be top 5). The game isn't a fukk you to shotos when they based the basics of the game around Ryu, which is a part of why he's so damn dominant anyway. Fireballs and DP's still have their effective usages, they're just not as auto-piloted now. Most situations you can't just stop a DP with a jab. If anything, you can stop a light DP with a jab in the right situation, not just always on principle. Just a matter which one is coming out first. As I said before, not every DP is created equal. They all have their purposes and strengths/weaknesses.

Daigo not making top 8 don't really mean shyt as he's not been as dominant in this game and I think even fell a few notches in IV towards its end. Alo, there was a Ken in top 8 and Tokido was just barely out of the running himself and he took Infiltration cleanly last tourney with Ryu.
