im very happy he went this route with the album........ but you cant get rich off selling drugs and then rapping about selling drugs and then wait till your worth 800 Million before you now half turn conscious and expect people not to be suspicious though.

You have to know when and how to use partnerships for the benefit of growing your company. Sprint was a smart move. I don't know the details of the deal - but I am sure it was something that allowed him to make sure his payroll and other expenses are paid. Who's not to say Sprint didn't pay for this release and Jay didn't have to come out of pocket.

Right now - sponsorship deals are everything. Advertising is totally different than it was even a year ago. Some companies won't work with you unless you are exclusively working with them now. It's crazy out here.

Now, what Jay-Z can do and I can say for a fact in the marketing department of Tidal and RocNation does is work with Black pr agencies, talent, and other Black owned media related companies or Black consultants - that's black business - but it's not in the form of Major corps - cause sadly their is none on the level that financially support all the things that come with a release.

The truth is - right now NO Black business can stay up and run off Black dollars. What white artist is out here dropping for free. A company has bills and expenses. That's money loss from server/hosting of Tidal and that money out of RocNation. Which has employees and expenses for both.

He is only one man. He is also an artist and only owns one label. And he doesn't make the rules on deals. Deals are run in conjunction with sponsorships/ads with brands. These brands have stipulations and their own set up - he can try and present different offers - but in the end - if I am working with a brand - that wants to pay or pay a good portion for my talent - and it helps me stay open - I have to do what I have to do. And try to change it as I go and grow.

Did he chastised? I didn't see anything he said or talked about in the video - as a diss or trying to make one feel bad. It was facts. Credit is more important that spending that money on whatever. Use that money to pay ish off your credit and rebuild it to be able to be in a better position if you or your family ever needs to buy a home, a car, a loan, etc.

Question: what could he do more of? In terms of providing insight?
