Or if you MUST means test put that shyt at 1 million dollars a year. That way everyone who is middle class gets a check. Telling someone who makes 76k a year in San Francisco that they make more than enough to receive less money than someone who makes 74K in Jonesboro Arkansas is just fukking stupid and democrats are supposed to be smart enough to know that.

But when you needed to win Georgia did you tell people to add up the checks, carry over the two (remember to always show work), check their W2s to make sure they're not over $50,000, if yes do additional math, and then have their final stimulus amount? NO.

Would this have the votes? Certainly not in the Senate. So then it comes down to reconciliation where we are already at with a less aggressive approach. But somehow it's the Democrats who are to blame.. explain that. The majority is by the slimmest of margins and you have two dinos who are wavering, meanwhile they are trying to pass this to get the money out to those who need it the most.

Just come out and say you want the stimulus for the entire middle class, then let the republicans go on record saying they think people making 75k a year arent middle class. You know how you keep hearing about how the middle class feels squeezed, this is a prime example. You either rich enough to get a huge tax cut when the republicans are in charge or you poor enough that you first in line for any scraps to be given out. Manchin would kill the bill because he firmly believes 75K should be the phase out? I dont believe that for one second. Its a number that was pulled out the ass of republicans that if the dems let take hold will end up costing them in the long run.
What you think gonna happen when if the student loan forgiveness gets debated that 75k number gets thrown out there again? Dems gonna lose the middle class professionals completely. They lose that and then these suburbs/exurbs go back hard red and states like Georgia are not in play.
There are ramifications to allowing the republicans to frame 75K as not middle class.
