This is false, if they're single they have a roommate. If not they have a significant other who makes the same or more.
Teachers work multiple jobs. Some during the school year, but especially when school is out.

Researchers at the Economic Policy Institute (EPI) recently found that when you factor in second jobs within the school system, the percentage of moonlighting educators increases substantially to 59 percent.

People in major cities been getting screwed by this from jump

and young teachers may do all that but those who are settled and parents themselves aren’t. I’ve watched a lot of my friends go from teacher-after school program counselor-tutor-summer school teacher to just teacher when they had kids.

either way, I don’t care what income you make, if you’re still making your full income, you don’t need a check, just like I don’t care what income you made before, if you’ve lost income, you should get a check. At this point in the pandemic, it’s clear this is a stratified crisis, it’s not like last spring when it felt like the whole economy was gonna collapse so let’s send money everywhere. We know who has been impacted, support them, support states, support frontline workers (they’ve become a lost talking point in all this) and KIM. Everyone wants free money, I get it, especially since the govt hands out money to corporations like candy, but beyond tit for tat, aid should be focused on those impacted only, regardless of what their 2018/2019 taxes say.
