He can't really legislate moderation of a private site like that. Twitter and Facebook are under no legal obligation to allow him to post there. Like any other private citizen he should have to follow their rules if he wants to use their site.

This why that stupid Parlor social media app was created - they promote "free speech" and was hoping Trump would leave Twitter and go over to them

Of course they "choose to" - he's the President that regularly posted stuff that wouldve violated the twitter accounts you or I have. Twitter and FB allowed him to violate so they began flagging him after users began complaining...

Officially I don't think they "let him". They're obligated to carry his tweets because it's considered official communication from the president. As for them banning him or not I don't think it's in Twitter's best interest to ban him anyway because he gets eyeballs on their site. It's free advertising for them so even if they didn't have to carry them they'd probably find an excuse to do so.

You said section 230 means they could ban him. What section 230 actually means is that FB and Twitter aren't liable for the content their users post within reason. They could ban him either way with or without 230. They just can't right now because that's an official channel for the US president to communicate with citizens.

The real question is when they're no longer required to carry his communications will he be banned for rule violations? That can't be answered until it happens or doesn't. I'm on the thinking that they don't want to ban him but that doesn't mean that they won't. More than likely they probably will unless they can come up with a valid excuse not to which doesn't seem likely.

The Senate was never going to pass checks for 2k. Especially after Trump spent months agreeing with them that the 1200 to 2000 range was too high as it was.
