How are the Dems supposed to bring a bill that the Republicans aren't interested in?
the republicans said they'd go up to a trillion, and the cost of a bill that's only stimulus checks and extra unemployment would be like half a trillion :dahell:

but unfortunately, there's no deal to be had without Pelosi's Pork. so yes, the dems do share the blame for this :yeshrug:

meadows proposed a standalone bill and trump did those bullshyt EOs which would seem to indicate he would sign off on it

whats the harm in the dems saying ok..800 UI standalone and 2k stimulus check then we can sort out the rest later?

is it the mystical leverage they would lose for state/local/school funding? are states/towns going to fail before someone who is going to be short on rent?
these dudes can't let common sense get in the way of fealty to the democrats :yeshrug:

if the repubs said they'd go up to a trillion, that's plenty of relief money. but pelosi HAS to throw all her bullshyt in there or no deal :ehh: so no bill. sounds like a plan

Stop being selfish.

lol

ok

do a standalone bill for just you. 500 billion directly to YOUR bank account

thats still better than what they are doing now. which is nothing.

edit:

if i was real selfish id ask for a return to work bonus too so id get all 3

and id be working under the table right now accepting cash but instead im doing everything pro bono

ive given 3k-4k worth of lessons to one client but did not accept payment and told the father to put it towards the kid's college tuition/graduation present instead. im not even entertaining the notion that im being selfish.

UI bonus, mortgage/rent, hazard pay, and stimulus checks all needs to be apart of the same bill.

The other shyt can be negotiated, if Republicans aren't willing to agree to those issues then the Democrats need to stand their ground because there wont be another stimulus bill until next year. What they agree to now will be all we get for awhile.

Its imperative that they do this right, they should have stood their ground with the first bill but now is not the time to bend the knee to Republicans yet again.

If people starve, its not because Democrats aren't trying, its because Republicans dont wanna do shyt.

fair enough..thats mostly my point anyway..get the necessary stuff done asap. fukk the superfluous shyt. even trump just yesterday or the day before said he wasnt going to let people get evicted (whatever that means). he is clearly desperate to do whatever. just get something done.

I agree that the neccesarily stuff needs to happen now, but it's very important that those 4 issues are at the forefront. Democrats should not budge unless Republicans agree to address those 4 issues at a minimum.

put it on the table :hubie: let the republicans say no and then they will be fully to blame. until then the republicans are more to blame than the dems but the dems get the side eye :hubie:

I do feel like the Democrats should have come up with a second bill for those issues aside from the heros act. Let Republicans block it and get all the hate.

Coming up with a cheaper second bill amd having it shot down would make it clear that Republicans weren't even trying to negotiate.

the rethugs don't want that. you're desire for $$$ is making you blind to real game republicans are playing. they're in the @the cac mamba school of thought of cut this shyt off and make people go back to work (to jobs that don't exist)

this is bs

:mjlol:
no, it isnt. it's what's happening in real life :mjlol: your narrative on an internet forum is cool, but it's not pushing a deal forward in congress

how do you see the dems winning this? please explain how it plays out

for someone who wants the dems to succeed so badly, you sure aren't being realistic about how to win this negotiation. the dems are holding out on people who don't care if they keep holding out; you can't win in that scenario :dead:

i can't imagine thinking it's an emergency to get this money out (which it is), but then applauding pelosi holding up a direct relief discussion because she "needs" to push a bloated bill through. good luck with that :yeshrug:i cant help but notice that it isnt working

you know why the country isnt "blaming the republicans" right now?

because pelosi didn't propose a simple, direct bill that only includes extending unemployment and giving out 1200 dollar checks. she wrote a 2/3 trillion dollar, bullshyt ass communist wishlist that people are laughing off because it's ridiculous and would never pass and was too easy for the republicans to correctly label

watch how quickly the narrative shifts if pelosi does this to her bill

tenor.gif

and replaces it with a SIMPLE, DIRECT proposal with nothing but direct payments to the american people

or, the dems can keep losing :yeshrug:
