Uncertain grounds
Gyms are finished.

Tbh the "need" for them was probably overblown in the first place. People can workout at home like the old days and maintain decent shape. Obviously not with the variety of machines (or any) in their homes like at the gym but between free weights, calisthenics and jogging plus all the new products and information to maintain health its not hard to stay in decent shape. Its a luxury.

Obviously it sucks and people will fall out of shape. I just think the vast majority of americans are underestimating the damage to the economy this is going to have and that goes for people who thinks its really bad.

Is it even worth it to provide loans to gyms? If they enforce social distancing revenue is going to be hit significantly and thats on top of customers who wont come back regardless due to fear of viral spread

J-Pow is basically saying "I did all I had to do to prop up the financial system but I can't do it forever.:hubie: So y'all need to do something for the American people." The American people can't wait until after the election because at that point God forbid we will be in a second wave (hopefully not). In other words we aren't having a V-shaped recovery. Its likely to be a wide U shaped recovery if no other stimulus is passed. shyt I wouldn't be surprised if the 2020s become a lost decade like the 90s was for Japan and they still haven't recovered from it,
He keeps trying to say with out saying, if I have to continue to rescue the economy - big business and Wall Street aren't going to like the outcome.

Isn’t that what the unemployment was for? For example, someone in Florida can get 875 per week through July to sit home and do nothing. Add on the one-time $1200 payment. I don’t think they’ll do anything big after that CARES Act got passed.
During pandemic, the problem with unemployment is the requirement of not working inorder to get help. If that Florida person is allowed/encouraged/required to do essential jobs OR any other work along with receiving benefits, then the amount per week to disburse is lower and either the benefits OR the income from job becomes supplemental income

At the same time, you can’t have all these business going bankrupt. When this shyt is over, people will need somewhere to work.
Also, states need money to pay for all the extra Covid-19 spending and budget shortfalls.

We are all socialists now. :mjlit:
You're absolutely correct that bankruptcy isn't the answer, however it's the correct answer with pure Capitalism...along with price gouging, selling health insurance, and pending IP on vaccines/cures
Before/during/after this pandemic, it is proven that a pure implementation of any economic system is a pending automatic L

States should be helped only for their Covid-19 efforts, which is why free Covid-19 treatment by fed gov is a positive

The Senate will put a poison pill in that makes essential exclude people not directly interacting with people which will screw warehouse workers

Yea I think they’re voting on it tomorrow, not sure on the time. If this doesn’t get passed tomorrow I honestly don’t know how things will shake out moving forward. The big dawgs got some bread during the first couple waves of the stimulus so it seems like they saying to hell with everyone else:francis:

Record unemployment:francis:

My job is letting my black ass go in 4 weeks. I need that extra 600 per week:mjcry:
