There are protests going on with people wanting to reopen the country. Some of those people are specifically citing wanting to go back to work because they can't make ends meet. There was a woman in Texas that was sentenced to 7 days in jail because she refused to close her hair salon because she had to feed her kids. Those people are not satisfied with the stimulus and want things to reopen because they can't live on what they received or are receiving.

Agreed that one-time stimulus was poorly thought out for a lockdown thats been going on for 2-3 months now. hopefully they get it right the second time around.

Let's say they do, that's roughly $7980 a month depending on your state. Add in the average cost of 1.75 kids being home for 12 months. Then factor in what-ifs IE one of the people in your home get sick with ACA only. Your tire goes out, your fridge dies etc. etc.

The amount now is obviously much better, its still very difficult for someone with a family.
:dahell: and the average family isn't taking that in for actually working. not even close

giving a family 8 thousand a month in free money is plenty.

your initial comment made it seem like you were referring to some specific issues. just retorting with 3 trillion more dollars is a bit nebulous.
Check out them Turbo CACS who stormed Michigan governors building for an example friend. Hopefully that's specific enough for you. Be safe.

Did you read my response to @Pressure ?
nah, i didnt get that far :dead: i'm asking who are these families where taking home 8 grand a month on unemployment isnt enough

who is that not enough for, and what were they making actually working? i mean if you cant budget 8 grand a month in unemployment, then cry me a fukkin river

im not trying to start an argument but i don't get where you're coming from. the average family makes 60 grand a year, so 8 grand a month in unemployment is a massive raise.

Come on fam. $8000 a month is damn good money. That’s close to $96000 a year. The average household income in the U.S is $55k.

cut spending where though? if austerity happens it needs to be smart. i say renegotiate a bunch of government contracts with private industry cause thats where the real pork is.

The government interfered in lively hood of citizens too...so only after citizens are kept afloat via UBI variations, should businesses been awarded these strategically loosely obligated and weakly restricted grants/"loans"

At the same time, you can’t have all these business going bankrupt. When this shyt is over, people will need somewhere to work.

Also, states need money to pay for all the extra Covid-19 spending and budget shortfalls.

We are all socialists now. :mjlit:
