The paychecks of about 54,000 people are still being shorted to repay past-due student loans, despite a federal moratorium that has been in place for six weeks.

The Education Department revealed in a court filing that tens of thousands of people who were supposed to benefit from a congressionally mandated moratorium on involuntary collection are still having their paychecks shorted to repay student loans.

3 trillion is enough to give 300 million people 10 thousand dollars

i'd rather get that :yeshrug: if they're gonna destroy this country with debt, at least let everyone get a nice used car out of it. or a few free months of rent/mortgage
:francis: this makes sense to me :yeshrug:

Should last ppl a few months.

Isn’t that what the unemployment was for? For example, someone in Florida can get 875 per week through July to sit home and do nothing. Add on the one-time $1200 payment. I don’t think they’ll do anything big after that CARES Act got passed.
Try living off unemployment if you have a family

Two parents? Wouldn't they both be receiving this same benefit
Let's say they do, that's roughly $7980 a month depending on your state. Add in the average cost of 1.75 kids being home for 12 months. Then factor in what-ifs IE one of the people in your home get sick with ACA only. Your tire goes out, your fridge dies etc. etc.

The amount now is obviously much better, its still very difficult for someone with a family.
