I've always said this when people compare The Black Album to the Blueprint(Personally I feel like TBA has production on par with TBP and is a notch higher lyrically) Jay definitely slid off the brakes lyrically a bit here.

Overall though, I would give The Blueprint the edge over Stillmatic due to the production. Honestly one of the greatest examples of great picking ever
Dope points. Not to get into too much of a side discussion, but I think regarding the bolded, that the highs of the production on TBA are as high as the highs on Blueprint, if not higher, but the mis-steps on TBA are a little bit worse than the ones on Blueprint IMO, and sound a little bit more dated...not much, but a little bit.

Even in spite of the ridiculous Nas standom that exists on this site, never in my worst nightmares did I imagine seeing Stillmatic beating Blueprint in a poll.
:gucci:

Blueprint is 10x better, a classic. Stillmatic isn't.

Nas stans
:snoop:

I know it's cool to throw out the "Nas stans" phrase as The Booth frequently pretends it's overrun with them (usually as a jealousy tactic to shill for shyttier rappers from other coasts) even though there's tons of evidence to the contrary, but a) The Blueprint isn't 10x better. It just isn't. It's barely better. and b) the poll is close and rightfully so. If this poll was way to the side of Nas, then you might have a point about stannery.

OK maybe exaggerated with the 10x better but still significantly better imo. More standout tracks, FAR better production. Idk if the poll should be this close and certainly not in Nas' favour. The stanning is definitely responsible for this.

Stillmatic has better songs, and the rapping is better

The Blueprint has better production and is consistently good from start to finish

Both are classics though

Like I said before to you breh, Stillmatic was album that brought a new generation of fans to Nas in the early 00s. So while Blueprint was classic because of Just Blaze and Kanye and production is the more important now because of it, there's nothing wrong with people preferring Stillmatic if it got them to get back into a guy who is also a top 5 MC
No need to be mad cause people have a preference while stating yours

To me they''re both important albums and the soundtrack to the uni days:blessed:

Not mad breh...not at all
:troll:

Haha I get it though. Stillmatic has an appeal. It was his resurrection and all that. The album that had Ether etc etc. But if we are just purely comparing quality of two albums, taking into account rhymes, beats etc., Jay has this quite comfortably imo.

The blueprint is better. Both classics though. The blueprint production is what gives the edge here.

Stillmatic is way more than just Ether, it was start of the God Son era and really the 2nd or 3rd Chapter of Nas career where he just getting back to conciousus rhymes (I mean you could argue this) so thats why it was beloved The intro, Got Urself, rewind, One Mic, Your the man, 2nd Childhood, Poison were tracks that were played a lot and on all mixtapes and used to get freestyled over (G-Unit, Jadakiss)

Back in the day and well into the 00s you had people online and off arguing about both albums though

As a Nas stan I can even say that The Blueprint front to back may be a better album. Stillmatic obviously is a classic too but it had a good amount of filler tracks on it.
