I still cant bring myself to watch that match, shameful on all levels. The only sour spot on an otherwise amazing Mania.

That was a classic example of a match where the audience NEEDED a payoff and never got it. Book needed to win that match and feud, plain and simple, and he didn't.
Maybe it was a case of WWE not wanting to be predictable, but fukk that.
If we got the payoff at the end, the shyt leading up to it would have been tolerable. But since we didn't, it goes down as one of the most shameful programs they've ever done.
And I've never been one to take this shyt seriously. I can laugh off almost anything in wrestling, no matter how offensive it gets. But this one still bothers me.

Naw saying that it was just a case of WWE not wanting to be predictable is too easy an escape for this injustice especially wen u consider that they've always been predictable at different occasions throughout history and continue to be and sometimes rightfully so, there are just certain stories in wrestling that deserve to be told the right way like Benoit being denied the World title and finally winning it, Eddie finally winning the big one, Austin winning the title at Mania XIV after being voided an entire year..they just didn't want Book going over Haitch because of his race plain and simple

I understand that the kliq run the biz at all costs :birdman: but :wow:

Booker T only wrestler in history to get beat down on the RAW before the PPV title bout and lose the title match

The pedigree with the delayed cover.... for the 3 count :damn:

Nothing was gained the from win, win or lose HHH would be same status, but booker losing sent him to euro status instead of being a top guy

My reaction when he lost the match ::dwillhuh::what::merchant::why::whoo::snoop::whoa::dahell::dead:

The fact that Flair and Trips buried dude's career into oblivion in their first meeting along with beating him with that half ass pedigree is what did it. Even if Book would have won the title for a month, It would have been justified

I've always felt Hunter was a racist.

Only "evidence" to the contrary is his appearance on the Bernie Mac show.
Nah, if I remember that episode correctly Hunter was gonna give Jordan that work... he should have thrown Vanessa in the bushes cause I swear she's the most ungrateful child in sitcom history.

The :king: of :king:'s was def wrong for that one.

I will say this though there was a thread on here not too long ago with you nikkas claiming NWA/Early WCW was so great because the heels were constantly beating down and going over the faces but I'll let you nikkas cook. :mjpls:

I don't have a compelling response, but Rick Rude :blessed:

There are always going to be people who think everything "old" was golden, looking through the nostalgia tinted glasses

for as much as I blame HHH I blame Vince more. As much as he loved shytting on WCW guys you know he loved getting on the black one again.

In the NWA days the heels would look cowardly. And to show the parallel: Black folks weren't pushed at all as main event talent. So when Ron Simmons came along the first thing I noticed was that he wasn't smiling and grinning.

And the announcers gave props to his college football career.

In WWE? Triple H and the announcers called Booker a thug, an ex criminal (I vaguely recall gang references but that might be my anger thinking.)

Nah, that shzt was unnecessary. It was one of the reasons that many older heads rooted for John Cena to beat Hunter.

Think on that.

I still can't stand Cena...but when he feuded with Trips I was rooting for Wonder Bread.
