This was cool but I was let down if I can be honest.

I feel like this film did an amazing job with the characters and the story. The emotion, humour, everything was pitch perfect.

But the actual horror stuff was a huge let down,as was pennywise and that's not on the actor. His best scene is by far the Georgie scene.

Everything else though? It was bad. Cgi that already looks bad and will age terribly. Instead of being scary it just made me roll my eyes with how bad it was. And the fear dialogue stuff by pennywise was so on the nose and hammy. I wish they pulled back, dropped the Cgi and went more subtle. I'm so let down by it.

This is a good movie,it's not just not a good horror movie. If that makes sense.

Just saw the movie. Glad they cut out what appeared to be a child-orgy in the original book.
They fukked up the story a bit by eliminating some of the bullies and changing the fears of a lot of the kids, but overall not bad.
The part two is so much more complex and involves the Space Turtle and Derry history and a lot more suicidal ideation.

I did research into Cary Fukunaga's scripts, I read there were multiple versions? I've only one so far, unless that's the only one that leaked.

Can I get that too long didn't read version of his script?

cut out 2 characters from the losers club...they were 5 instead of the lucky 7 , the only time a clown was on screen was during Georgies death and the script was trash from there

trust and believe when i say we are lucky we didnt get a cary fukunaga IT...his script was absolute:trash:

More I think about the film the less I like it. :francis:

Honestly feel like a lot of people are caught in hype and this will be a film that won't age well.

Gotta reserve full judgment until the 2nd film comes out though :manny:
True. I just don't see this film resonating with an entire generation the way the book and mini series did .

But we will see. I just don't think this director has the goods. He has no real eye for horror.

It was cool. I give it a B -.I really wish Cary would've got to direct it.

I don't think I can be scared or even made to jump by a movie at this point. I started having an internal philosophical conversation with myself mid-film :jbhmm:. Once you reach adulthood is film really a medium where "scary" can be adequately conveyed? Fear to me is visceral journey. I think the best you can hope for in relation to film is a tension filled experience. I say that because the movie that scared me the most in my entire life really had nothing directly to do with the movie. The movie was Species when I was like 10. It was my still developing sense of sexuality and the abstract thought that you could be about to give a woman them prime Justin Slayer Booty Talk strokes and she turns into a damn alien on your ass :dame:.

Books can be scary as fukk because you're only limited in the experience by your own imagination or lack thereof. I started to wonder why can video games (i.e. another visual medium) for example be scarier than movies? I concluded it's because you're directly in control of the character's decision making process in most instances and their outcome. If you're playing RE:3 and you have only one door to open, and feel in your stomach that Nemesis is behind that door you may have to hit a :hubie:. You have to actually choose to go through that door. You're not watching someone else do it on some voyeur tip like :martin:.

Then I finished my box of junior mints. :birdman:

This has nothing to do with the movie, but last night was the first time in my 33 years that I felt old :flabbynsick:. There was so many jits (13,14,15, 16, et al) in the theater talking and shyt the entire movie, in constant motion to and from who knows the fukk where, taking snapchat pics and shyt. One of the worst movie experiences I ever had. :sadcam:

I don't think this movie was meant to be scary tho. More like creepy the dialogue was too light hearted for it to carry any thing more than a slight thriller. Plus I'm not scared of clowns...

Last true movie to scare me was the ring :manny:

This shyt was dope as fukk. How anyone can complain about the horror aspect of this is beyond me. All these nikkas used to wack ass jump scares. Honestly, this is how the original should of been. This nikka IT was straight up in your face and got a lot of screen time. The difference between this and the og is the og has a scare factor or fear that IT was gonna come or is watching where this current verison, he is here and not being subtle about it.

Yes. It is. It's a horror film based on a horror book.
Supernatural horror. I didn't feel like it was horror so in that aspect I agree he doesn't have the "eye" but I don't think it was supposed to be horror? The first one I felt was this one it was something different more "macabre" I guess.

Cgi in horror looks awful. There was nothing remotely even good about the horror aspect about this film. It was goofy looking and will age like dirt like all cgi in horror films.

From a horror perspective this shyt was almost terrible.
