Like I've said before, those who rely solely on the eye test are just as stubborn as those who rely solely on stats. Ideally you need a mix of both.

There's nothing wrong with advanced stats, as long as they're used in the right context.

I, no lie, read this year that Kyle Korver would average Wilt Chamberlain numbers if he shot as much as Allen Iverson. I know most people don't take advanced stats serious, but those are type of comments that people justify by advanced stats.

I've been reading your ignorant responses through out this thread and I'm not sure you understand what analytics are. There isn't a fortune 500 company, or any successful organization that doesn't use analytics to make best use of their time, resources, money, etc. Sports is no different.

I totally agree. at the end of the day, they're useful, but the name of the game is still getting the best players playing at the highest level.

I am well aware of what they are, but the best companies and organizations go after the best people/players available. the point is you don't need to recreate the game or the strategy to be successful, as many who rely on analytics would lead you believe.

But the best companies and organizations don't always go after the best people. All of their decisions SHOULD be value based decisions.

In the workplace absolutely, you are correct. But athletics, the NBA specifically is a talent based league. The best talent usually wins out.

Not to defend nobody but some team's playbooks be leaking on the Internet, and you'll still see opposing teams scramble to create a competent opposing gameplan
