Tell that to Eric Garners family
Oscar Grants family
Philando Castile
I could go on
:coffee:

And that same shyt was happening to EVERYONE back then instead of the relatively scattered instances right now. Like I said, stop pretending like this is the worse off black people have ever been treated by the police. It's been way fukking worse and you're being dumb if you think or say otherwise.

Police brutality ain't "scattered" :what:
It's the same. Nothing has changed. More unarmed black people have been killed by police in the past 8 years than the 60s and 70s combined

It's happening less, but it's reported more. That's the difference. More people know about it now.

In the 60's and 70's you couldn't even call the police if you were black and "police brutality" was just how cops interacted with black people. Police were whooping black people's asses all across the country back then. There were no conversations. They were straight up unleashing police dogs on innocent students trying to go to school.

what, wait?...prove that...cause i highly doubt that...it's just more documented/broadcast now....

It saddens me how cats on here don't know the history of what their parents and grandparents grew up with and in. My grandpa told me a story about how when he was younger white folks could just walk into a black person's house, steal some shyt, and laugh in they face. They couldn't really do shyt about it because if they did the cops would come beat then arrest them. The one time he fought back he had to move across the fukking country.

It's two sides to the same coin tho. I don't think anyone is advocating abandoning grassroots/community efforts to vote. Just saying that as you start trying to employ those efforts go to the polls to elect politicians who will be supportive and vote against those pols who are not.
That's how it always worked. However, idiots on this site that are unaware of this would rather mask their lack of insight by dismissing voting altogether than being like :ohhh: I didn't know that.

Too much ego in here. Its the reason why I find black male leadership to be a joke. Dudes don't know when to fall back or admit they're lacking and its time to listen. It's the reason why 13% BM voted for Trump compared to 3% of BW.

I'm tired of BM being PROUDLY stuck on stupid instead of building.

Dog...black men enjoy being proud and wrong.

I'm really depressed at our lack of humility.

For every story my grandparents told me about police brutality, their children and their grand children all have stories about police brutality.

Yup.

This was awfully hotep of him. The type of cats who think they're being smart but really are demonstrating anything but.

If he's voting in the Bay, I'm sure there were local candidates he could have backed. Change starts from the ground on up in grassroots politics. voting on who is on the local school board is just as important as the presidency. It's actually more direct and impactful at a local level.

I wish more folks understood the bolded. Majority of the things they want changed/fixed starts there.

Strange thing happened to me since breaking up with my ex and marrying my current. Both women are leaders in politics, their sororiety and so forth. I see one, building to help put together Essencefest, the other a leader in the Baltimore community. I see how Black women collaborate..and when one doesn't know, they fall back in learn.

Look in here. It's CLEAR heads in here are absent in understanding how Grassroots activism and public policy/politics go hand in hand. But do heads admit to not knowing? NOOOO...they want you to prove it rather than admitting they don't know.

We can't even get a black male yearly version of essencefest because of the attitudes displayed in here.

Look at this thread. Dudes who don't know shyt about policy and politics are doing the most yapping instead of being humble and learning.

It's disgusting. I'm sick of black males and this shyt they're on in this country.

I don't see this perverted collabing with West Indians and Africans. Dudes build together. Why are we like this here?

What part of the amendments did blacks not understand? They had to make AMENDMENTS TO THE CONSTITUTION just to include you as a black breh/brehette. Why do yall think voting does anything?
:mjlol:

Yall still think voting for cacs is going to save the black community?
