haven't posted in a while, rack pulls and upping deadlift volume been good to me past few months. Lost a bit of weight over December-January due to working 60+ hrs and having little time to eat.

Idk if I should make my own thread or not...

that said, I just joined a gym like 2 weeks ago, my main goal is to flatten my stomach, and get back to the 6 pack I had. Plus I'm sitting most of the day, and I don't want to end up like some of my family members (nip the shyt in the bud).

Anyway, so I need some guidance. As I said before my abs are my main focus, so that's all I want to work on, but I know you're not supposed to only work one area.
-How often should I do ab exercises? How long should I be doing them for?

Last week, I went to the gym either 6 or 7 days. Normally I work out for about 45 minutes. One day I did do some leg/glute exercises. The day after I did the leg/glute exercises I did feel sore the day after. The day after I first did thr ab exercises I was sore, but no really after that (except today because I did the "butts and guts" class). So does that mean that I'm doing the ab/oblique exercises wrong? I have done over 300 'crunches' on machines, one with weights, one without. --->

this is the closest pic I could find, but it's a little different.

I'm sure I'm doing this somewhat wrong because my arms/hands will get sore before my abs do.

It depends how much fat you have around your stomach. You can't spot reduce fat. But if your nutrition is in order, and your stomach is flat enough where the effects of some good ab workouts. For me personally, I didn't get my abs via those ab machines, I used other forms of calisthenics and some boarderline HIIT workouts. You don't really need to work on abs more than 25mins honestly. But then again, it depends on the person. These vids helped me carve my abs when I got them:

Leg raises like these also help big time for Lower abs:

I do about 25 reps and 4 sets of leg raises at home.
