:jbhmm:To me the star wars movies have always been at best corny average sc-fi fantasy movies :hubie:it the stories that are told outsides movie franchise that always appeal to me like for example in my opinion Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic games have way better storytelling than the movies but that just my opinion:hubie:

Even the new Jedi Fallen Order game has better storytelling than these new movies.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Glorifies Abuse and Assault Against Women
On Friday, December 6th, a timely two weeks before the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Disney issued a warning that certain scenes in the film would contain flashing lights and may negatively affect those with photosensitive epilepsy. While the announcement was admirable and demonstrated a gesture of goodwill from the company to consumers, there is another warning needed for Rise that the company didn’t disclose: That the film romanticizes abuse and assault against women.

It is important to note that the descriptions following technically qualify as spoilers for the new film that debuts in theaters today on Friday, December 20. However, when it comes to the portrayal of serious, harmful, and triggering content, the safety of viewers should be more important than allowing oneself to be surprised while watching a film. Not all surprises are enjoyable.

In order to inform what is meant by abuse and by stating that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker promotes unhealthy myths about abusive behavior, work from a specialist in domestic abuse, Lundy Bancroft’s (2002) book, Why Does He Do That: Inside the Minds of Angry and Controlling Men will be utilized as a guide to understand how Kylo Ren is abusive, how Rey is his victim, and how The Rise of Skywalker romanticizes abuse by portraying the myth that fixing an abusive man is the ultimate responsibility for a vulnerable young woman.

Men get emasculated in this trilogy

Kylo is essentially Rey's bytch..got a clean sweep in the play-offs

They didn't plan out this trilogy and it shows. They made up shyt from one movie to the next.

JJ Abrams, did a good job with Star Trek, but Star Wars should've been left to someone who was a fan of the series.

I went into this trilogy hoping they would improve upon the previous 6 films. Wasn't the case at all.

As a Star Trek fan, fukk no he did not

The year 3030
thinking about it a little more, the whole thing with 3PO was so fukking stupid, especially when he was so afraid of
losing his memory of his friends..

70% of his friends are already fukking dead :hhh:, at that point in the movie he only pretty much had R2, Chewie (although I think they thought he was dead at that time) Leia, and a lesser extent, Lando.

scene had no weight to it, then it's stupider that he gets a backup. K2's sacrifice in R1 was greater than fukking 3PO's foreal, after seeing it in context of the movie beyond the trailer

and speaking of chewie all he gets is a medal for his troubles...best friend Han dead, Luke dead, Leia dead, 3PO forgot him...but he gets a shiny medal that he should have gotten 30 years ago, least he's got Lando though

:umad:I like them better now since this shyt trilogy. I love Roth, always thought the first 2 of the prequel series were just very boring movies. But I can respect that there was a legit story and vision the movies were working towards. The story was never the problem in the prequel trilogy, it was the execution. The story of this new trilogy is confused and just plain bad. On top of it being bad as a singular trilogy, it also retroactively fukks up the 2 other trilogies :snoop:. Even if you hated the prequel series, you had the OG trilogy to fall back on. Since this is a sequel, it fukks up everything :beli:
I'll give you the prequels had a better story, but there's maybe two hour of story in those three movies, and the rest is filler.
Not good filler at that.
Don't let me get started on the actual filmmaking of the prequels.
Say what you will about the sequel trilogy, from a filmmaking point of view it's way better excuted

Article is a joke, this whole trilogy emasculates men and makes it look like men are worthless idiots, yet Rey is the one being abused? The same Rey who reverse mind tricked Kylo Ren with ZERO training, then beat him in a fight with ZERO training. fukk these bytches, I really wish they would just shut the fukk up.

:dwillhuh:

The Farce Awakens was a frame to frame copy of ANH, zero new creative flourishes

TLJ was nothing BUT filler since the Canto Bight storyline led nowhere, the space chase with the Star Destroyer led nowhere, and Luke’s involvement in the story went nowhere (which, by extension, means that nothing that happened in TFA mattered, since finding the map to Luke was pointless)

Don’t even get me started on “Sith daggers” and “wayfinders” and “Sith loyalists” from the new film. My nikka, Sith loyalists?!?!?! :what:

Palpatine’s whole steelo is secrecy and pulling strings from the shadows. You telling me the whole time he was manipulating covert events he had an arena full of Sith loyalists sitting the bleachers watching his every move? :why:

You telling me Force ghosts can interact with physical objects now (when Luke catches his lightsaber)? :what:

Why couldn’t ghost Luke just go fight Palpatine himself then?

The prequels were never this bad, even at their lowest points.
