Not liking Finn getting kicked down to supporting character status.

Finns story of redemption/crush on Rey was the heart and soul of TFA. He's the only character with personality, charm, and a relatable backstory. Nobody gives a shyt about Rey outside of "is she a skywalker or not?".

I've no problem with Rey becoming a Jedi/discovering her heritage being a central plot point (as is Star Wars tradition). I just hate the fact that a central Black lead is getting the short end of the stick to tell Reys story. For all the talk of the new trilogy breaking new ground, it wouldve been even groundbreaking to feature TWO major character arcs.

You sure about that? She is probably the most popular of the new characters. I agree that there is more to Finn's character than hers though.

Poe is the only one I feel like they could get rid of and it wouldn't have much of an effect at all. He has a huge female fanbase, but only because women find Oscar Isaac attractive.

Rian Johnson is way better then JJ Abrams IMO so I think this one will actually take some risks. Trailer got me HYPE tho so I hope it delivers.

I'm still saying that kylo is gonna get Rey to go darkside or Snoke will and Kylo will become the hero. Think what a cliffhanger that would he up see Rey go darkside and Luke be mentally fukked all the way up after another one of his pupils falls to the darkside.

This will cause a shytstorm. You take the main female lead that tons of little girls look up to, turn her evil, then take the bad guy who has killed tons of people including a beloved favorite, turn him good and expect folks to root for him. Keyboards would be on fire after the film is over

I personally do think Rey turning heel would be an interesting turn of events though . Especially if it's up to Luke and Finn to stop her or try to bring her back to the light.

Stick these same characters under a different banner than star wars and nobody would give a shyt. They're sub par and bland as fukk.

And nobody is watching star wars for its cerebral story but it's gotten far too repetitive going over the same shyt ad nauseum.

There’s literally NOTHING beyond 100% confirmation that he’s going to become a force sensitive bad ass that would compel me to see this movie.

Rian Johnson will have Finn a legit hero in this film

The only issue is that because of TFA its hard to see why he's important for this movie and going forward.

TLJ will get Finn back on the right track its just knowing that JJ is directing episode 9....

I just give zero fukks about this story unfortunately. Can’t believe after 30 years of hype and anticipation we’re getting a soulless reboot. Literally nothing in this trailer looks inspired or original in the slightest.

She's the jedi of the group so I can see why she gets love. Id especially say amongst kids (particular little girls) she's the most popular. She's their Luke Skywalker but even more badass i'd say.

But she falls flat for me as far as charisma and appeal.

Poe is IMO a non-factor. JJ dropped the ball massively with him and Capt. Phasma. Both were hyped to be huge characters but their presence is minimal. Hopefully this time around they correct that.

Funnily enough this trilogy doesnt have the Han Solo type of figure. The dashing, bad-ass bad boy who the guys wanna be and the women wanna be with.
