Some of you really surprised about how their handling Boyega's character?:dahell:, been obvious since day 1 and clearly evident in the marketing :mjpls:. This will be Mad Max and Furiosa all over again.
but there is no illusion that Finn is the main character the only people that think different are the people here wishful thinking. When daisy proves to be the lead it's not going to come as a surprise at all.

I'm sorry :whoa:
Because Finn isn't a stone cold suave bad ass in every thing they show him in and he has to share screen time with Rey and Han clearly it's ":mjpls:" marketing.
It wasn't enough to make him the first character shown in the teaser and everything else they've done which is really the same as it's been for the other characters.
So insecure :camby:

:ld:

If you haven't followed all the spoilers, chill on this, otherwise : millenniumfalcon.com • MF.com

Maybe comparing him to Jar Jar is a bit much...but it's clear that he is mostly incompetent throughout the film.

There have also been various interviews where other castmates have talked about the "humor" he brought to the role.

Can barely manage the falcon turrets.

Look at that silly scene where he gets attacked by the "cargo" monster thing....honestly, what the fukk? Why is he being put in silly positions like that?

Then Han Solo has to save him from a random stormtrooper, even though he has a fukking lightsaber.

Finally, he gets his ass whooped by Kylo, while "Rey Is Special".

My dude is a JOBBER....:mjcry: While the white chick is on some Brock Lesnar shyt.
Sounds like smart booking to me :vince:

Finn is being marketed as the main Jedi, action hero and the one who the story supposedly revolves around (chosen one), when it's really Daisy Ridley's character who's the main and "chosen one" and the real Jedi/force character of the film which will be the big reveal of film. There has been nothing on Daisy Ridley's character whilst they're telling you damn near everything about Boyega's character.

It's called deceptive marketing and it's in done all the time :russell:

Seeing how Star Wars is a male heavy franchise and they wanted the main character to be a female, they were probably worried, so wrote in a male character that could be part of the story and be marketed as the main action hero/character when it's really the female character.

This is similar to what happen with Mad Max.

The big reveal will be Daisy turning out be a Jedi/force user and saving Finn from death :snooze:

Probably meant to be done with a white actor but Boyega got cast instead.

it's funny because I think the marketing has shown what we thought it would. The ad where lypita says "who are you" and daisy says "I am no one" dead giveaway she's someone important. We see her walking through a desert in search of something dead giveaway she's going to have a journey. Every shot she's in with Finn either leading him or in command in some form. When Luke is heard saying "the force runs strong in my family, my dad has it, sis has it I have it and you have it too" we see a white hand extending a weapon to another white hand. Lastly we know her last name whilst we just know Finn by finn. I don't see any smoke and mirrors in the marketing ppl have been saying boyega was the lead before the 1st trailer and haven't let go of that theory against better judgement

The moment Finn was shown with the lightsaber made the character the main/most important character by default to the public. Character with blue lightsaber = Jedi and main story character (modern/new Luke Skywalker) to people.

Rey looks like a nobody who stumbles on the adventure of the hero who doesn't know what to do anymore. The last trailer was petty much constructed around that. Finn talks about "not knowing what to fight for", Lupitas character monologues about the force and letting it in, cut to Boyega igniting the lightsaber and taking on the villain :manny:

Then there's them showing him holster the lightsaber and then using it to battle stormtroopers in tv spots, further establishing him as the main guy.

Also in that trailer where Luke's talking, the lightsaber exchange with the hands occurs when he mentions his sister, not afterwards.

Except in that Trailer Finn looks overmatched and scared out of his mind as Kylo Ren approaches him and most of the recent trailers have centered around Rey's character. From most people I've talked to no one knows who the force sensitive characters actually are. Maybe to the casual audience they would make the base level associations of blue lightsaber = must be luke/jedi, but in the trailer it looked like he didn't even know what to do with the saber. I won't be surprised if Rey is force sensitive and Finn isn't but I'm not sure they're trying to market Finn as a jedi and the new luke
