But unless I missed more Info all ford said was
his favorite scene is the Rey and ren sword fight . And he spelled ren wrong so maybe he actually just confused characters names .
where did the bumbling comic sidekick stuff come from?

:ld:

Maybe comparing him to Jar Jar is a bit much...but it's clear that he is mostly incompetent throughout the film.

There have also been various interviews where other castmates have talked about the "humor" he brought to the role.

Can barely manage the falcon turrets.

Look at that silly scene where he gets attacked by the "cargo" monster thing....honestly, what the fukk? Why is he being put in silly positions like that?

Then Han Solo has to save him from a random stormtrooper, even though he has a fukking lightsaber.

Finally, he gets his ass whooped by Kylo, while "Rey Is Special".

My dude is a JOBBER....:mjcry: While the white chick is on some Brock Lesnar shyt.

Because apparently that's what having a white female co-star means.
Plus because they're so ridiculously worried their view is very fragile.
Even if he is "bumbling" I'm sure it'll work, and he'll be cool.
But I prefer that archetype so I'm biased.

To me it's like was every other character in the OT a bumbling sidekick to Luke ? No so why is everyone so scared , Poe is the one getting the least amount of promo time and he's the 3rd lead

Some of you really surprised about how their handling Boyega's character?:dahell:, been obvious since day 1 and clearly evident in the marketing :mjpls:. This will be Mad Max and Furiosa all over again.

Doesn't Rey not put up much of a fight at the end as well though before the mountain collapses and they get to the Falcon? They're both competely or mostly untrained force users. You might be right on the rest of the scenes but I doubt Abrams would position Finn as essentially the co-lead and eventual Jedi if it was going to be executed the way you describe.
