This show is too adult for Star Wars and Disney+ :yeshrug:

It's like watching a Chris Nolan Star Wars and it doesn't feel related to Star Wars.

Even the actual Rogue One movie did.
:camby:
What a dumb complaint. This show actually feels different in a dope way. We’re not getting served the same shyt for the hundredth time and it has by far the best writing Star Wars has had in ages and you’re complaining about it??? How the hell?

No hype for this?!
it's good so far, but i see goofballs overhyping it saying IF YOU THINK MANDO IS BETTER THAN THIS THEN YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT TELEVISION/MOVIES type shyt.

mando is a billion times better than anything i've seen so far. but i already feel the pressure from people who don't like star wars to overstate how good this is.

i dont wanna see huge battle set pieces and lightsabers on the show... the show supposed to be grounded. He's a spy. The show supposed to be in the MUD and that's where they've placed it. Star Wars movies are all about a few select families at the top of the food chain.

Bout time we see what regular people went through..

Yea mando is def better so far. It has a more emotional connection to the main cast where the first 2 episodes in this show feel meh in comparison. But I think the first two episodes will be much better on a rewatch.

Then again it’s early. This show has like 9 episodes left so we will see what they will do with it.

People still have the trash Book of Boba Fett taste in their mouths. (Legit Last Jedi & Rise of Skywalkwe status) But they forget that all the good episodes from BoBF were the mando focused one.

One great thing about this show is that unlike the Obi-Wan one they have a wide amount of directions they can take the show. Potential for Andor is very high. Im genuinely excited.

nah I am excited so far too...

I just am already seeing battle lines drawn between star wars fans and non star wars fans.

I think it's good, quite frankly that three episode arc is already better than Obi-Wan narratively which is sad since I had high hopes for that.

I just can definitely see the non-star wars fans lining up to praise this one for not having star wars lore nerd shyt, which to me is just... just say you don't like star wars then, it can all exist under one roof.

The great thing about Star Wars is that it's comprised of an entire galaxy with thousands of inhabited planets and millions of different species. Therefore, there can be numerous genres utilized. The idea that SW can't use elements of the spy genre, and a more grounded tone is just false. The series is well received by critics, and audiences so no it's not too "adult" for Star Wars, nor Disney. It's like saying Captain America, the Winter Soldier is too "adult" for Marvel because there's also She Hulk.

Stop it.

Stars Wars is a goofy fantasy lighthearted franchise. That’s how the creator made and envisioned it and that’s what people expect.

It ain’t meant to be serious or adult and be done in a Nolan way where those elements are stripped away completely.

This isn't the mcu where there was no live action progenitor so what they release can be whatever the hell they want as there's no expectation.

Star Wars in an established franchise and continuation.

That’s why Lucas kept the Prequels that way despite introducing political elements. Even Rogue one kept the goofy Star Wars tone.

Star Wars fans are calling the show slow and boring. And that’s why there’s no buzz for the show.

What’s funny is that people like you will be the first ones to start complaining once they are eventually forced to bring in the goofy traditional Star Wars elements, fan service along with having storm troopers act like idiots to make up for lack of viewership, buzz and ratings.

I’m enjoying the show and even prefer the tone but I can already see what is going to happen which will render the entire thing pointless . My issue why even attempt this in the Star Wars IP that's not even a full reboot after an extended break? The money that's pumped into this show could have gone to an actual Star Wars show.

I never said this show was bad or that I wasn't enjoying it:mjtf:

I said it doesn't feel like Star Wars because of the clear Chris Nolan approach which obviously does not fit with what Star Wars is which at it's core is about space wizards, goofy aliens and flying spaceships going into battle.

No

Andor also has an Audience Score of 81%, which shows an increasingly rare scenario where both critics and fans agree on the show’s quality.

Just a misrepresentation of Star Wars. As mentioned the tone changed in Return of the Jedi but prior to then it had more of a serious demeanor This show is right in line with that. If you think that at its core it’s about goofy aliens then you really miss what it is at its best - a story about many of the things humans deal with, war, family issues, politics good vs evil. etc only set against the backdrop of a fantastical galaxy with magical elements and various alien species. It can embody many different facets and your attempts to pigeonhole the franchise are off the mark.

Edited to add - what were all the goofy aliens in Empire Strikes Back, widely considered the best movie in the franchise? Yoda started out goofy but that was because he was testing Luke and afterwards when his real personality came out he was all business about trying to teach him important life lessons. Most of the aliens in a New Hope were in the Cantina scene and they weren’t depicted as especially goofy.
