I been feeling :unimpressed: with Star Wars myself and while I liked Rogue One I didn't care about Cassian enough to see him main a prequel. I'm in after these eps. tho.
I saw someone make a good point in a review that I'm surprised I hadn't thought about before. Now, I enjoy Return of the Jedi a lot - my third favorite, thought it isn't without it's problems. However, reviewer made a point that the second they enter Jabba's palace, Lucas changed the tone of Star Wars. Before that, with 4 and 5 it was much more serious in tone (with some humor of course). Then when he did the special edition changes, he continued that. This is more of a throwback to the first two films.

Don't follow.

robert meyer burnett mentioned it on two campea shows including while doing so someone referrring to his constant refrain of "versimilitude".

1:

2: in their full aftershow ...

what you posted is practically word for word what he said.

Ah ok, wasn't aware of the versimilitude thing, as I don't watch regularly but yup that was the review.

nobody watching? 1st ep. started off strong at the brothel but then slowed way down. Ep. 2 was much of the same but understandably they have to show some character progression..

ep. 3 was well done. The show is raw. i was hoping for a more grounded and "war time" Star Wars w/ everyday people and they seem to be delivering on that.

This show is too adult for Star Wars and Disney+ :yeshrug:

It's like watching a Chris Nolan Star Wars and it doesn't feel related to Star Wars.

Even the actual Rogue One movie did.

The great thing about Star Wars is that it's comprised of an entire galaxy with thousands of inhabited planets and millions of different species. Therefore, there can be numerous genres utilized. The idea that SW can't use elements of the spy genre, and a more grounded tone is just false. The series is well received by critics, and audiences so no it's not too "adult" for Star Wars, nor Disney. It's like saying Captain America, the Winter Soldier is too "adult" for Marvel because there's also She Hulk.
