I still haven't finished season two.

I know first seasons of Trek usually aren't good, but the first season of Discovery left such a bad taste in my mind.

I only watched the first ep of Discovery when it first aired and it didn't grab me.

Was on YouTube and this ad just played, and this looks dope. Is the whole series set far in the future or is this a development in the series?

No

You need to watch the first three episodes of discovery s1 in order to get it

You can skip the rest of season 2, I wouldn't do that to myself. Just know that in order to fix canon, they threw them in the future.

Discovery jumped 950 years into the show's future at the end of the 2nd season.

I love Star trek but I haven't watched any of this because I wasn't getting an extra subscription.

If I could unsee DSC & Picard I would. Lower Decks is the only thing worthy of the Star Trek name at the moment.

I liked episode 3, wish we could have seen Discovery and its crew but it is what is...
