Took 3 episodes but this next “phase” of Discovery is finally coming together. Feels like the show is hitting its stride and not piggybacking off of anything Enterprise or TNG related.
I was skeptical about them pushing so far into the future and somehow managing to be relevant with a ship so “old”. Tech from year 3100 should make the Discovery look like a fukking Model T but I understand that the showrunners wanted to give Discovery it’s own “universe” with a “clean” slate, have them see what the future looks like and eventually discover what caused The Burn.
Wouldn’t shock me if they closed the series with them going right back in time after “fixing” the future.
But with their new connection with “United Earth” and literally resolving a conflict the day they got there, Discovery should be “replaced” with a new ship for their own good or at least be packed with a ton of current tech. shyt, all they got to take back was a damn teen Trill? Thats crazy.
Meanwhile, Michael didn’t even bother to ask Book to stay. He gave her an opening and she balked.
Will be curious to see if the Discovery crew will even get to explore Earth. Saru gave them like a couple of hours when they should’ve been there at least a couple of months brushing up on the past 700+ years before going on their merry way
Either way, this show is back and i mentioned this before but the set design and special effects are better than any Trek show or movie and it ain’t even close. shyt, I even forgot that Picard was even a show and honestly, I think that show is a mistake.
