It just feels like shyt is in a holding pattern until Michael becomes captain. I still like the show because the cast is great compared to other Trek shows, but the plots just haven't been any good.

A whole lot better. I won't spoil it, all I'll say is that it's more evidence that Saru gotta go as captain. He doesn't have to be killed off, just relieve him of command.
Yeeeeeeeeah there deadass needs to be a whole season of this mirror universe cast/crew. “Regular” universe Discovery is tame in comparison and I hope the show runners see the potential here.
