problem is when it finally came to PC, it was an Epic Exclusive (for I think 6 months). supposed to be their premier franchise, but they pimpin it out to one exclusivity contract after the other

and like you said, this leads to people waiting so long they forget about that shyt. the hype for buying something is short lived, not stretched out over months and years
On top of the fact they can’t build a fanbase cause it’s like rolling the dice which platform they are gonna hoe their games out to next.

They are the only big publisher still moving like this. Makes zero sense in a modern gaming world.

Square has been doing stupid shyt over the last few years, hemorrhaging money over NFT's and shyt.

 Ain't got nothing to do with the exclusivity, it's all about their poor leadership and business decisions.

I mean look at this shyt :snoop:

This is supposed to be their "biggest" project, they put untold amounts of money into it and it looks like ass

I see ff16 still got them in shambles. Get ready for the sequel to ff7 to hurt even more:ufdup:.

SE might go even harder on Sony consoles because it’s the only thing keeping them paid right now.
Square's NFT obsession has got them in shambles.

It's dumb to go exclusive when you trying to bounce back.

Square dumb for taking that Sony stimulus which probably didn't include that big of a up front check.

All square games should have been on every platform at launch, especially the heavy hitters and new IPS.

Capcom was showing them the blue print

They are following the 2012-2016 "Crapcom" business model to a T. Put enormous, unreachable sales expectations on one single tenpole franchise installment to make up for your unmitigated, repeated failures in every other business venture outside of that one established franchise. Lose billions in market valuation when that installment doesn't receive anywhere near the critical nor commercial success you needed in order to make up for the exorbitant development costs/time/marketing that went into producing it (RE6). Shamelessly take a quick Sony exclusivity windfall, delusionally thinking that'll make up for the loss of 10s of millions in install customer base (SFV).

Problem is unlike Capcom, SE engineers and programmers are garbage tier in comparison; while the former buckled down to make an industry eclipsing, in-house proprietary engine to help eschew those unsustainable development costs/production timelines (RE Engine), thereby ushering in an unprecedented turn of fortune for the company.... Square repeatedly fumbled with the garbage that is Crystal tools. The development of which was only necessitated in the first place because their own ineptitude at adapting to the industry standard that is Unreal Engine (see Last Remnant). A total ineptitude that is STILL ongoing; wondering why y'all haven't heard jack shyt about DQ XII since its initial announcement years ago? It's cause development has completely restarted on ANOTHER attempt at a custom, in-house engine, all on account of, you guessed! Square's complete fumbling and incompetence with the advance kits of Unreal 5 they've had over half a decade to try and figure out. :mjlol: Pin all your hopes as a publicly traded company on cash grab gacha games and NFT metaverse chicanery cause of your own buffoonery brehs. :francis:
