Damn that's the truth.
I bet 90% of people (including myself) subscribe to Spotify for music and have no idea they're subsidizing podcasts from the likes of Joe Rogan.

If i was a artist I would want to be paid to go on podcast
That would kill it quick
Yupyou'd never expect these artist to be poor with the way they seem to always flaunt their wealth in music videos
not worried about em
Okay if Spotify disappeared right now, majority of musicians would be unhappy about it, fact.
there are people who still ONLY release their music on band camp or through their website. fukking Stones Throw is a perfect example of a label that literally doesn’t let their shyt get pirated. I bet they aren’t complaining about Spotify “splits”.
You’re right, but my point is there is music I can ONLY buy on band camp. Like Knxledge for example. You talking like Stones Throw is a major label. They were around before streaming and have a established fanbase.
Nah fam, these streaming rates apply to both indie and major label artist and they are effing rip offs. Hell Pharrell broke sales records in streaming with Blurred Lines and only got a 2500 dollar check for being a songwriter. Musicians power Spotify. THe INTERNET gave us a platform. Spotify is just one of many options we have. It's not the best but it's one of the most popular hence it's reputation and money. But the streaming game is fukked up financially for all artist. Most make their bread from shows and placements
Pharrell only got 2500 from blurred lines from spotify? I'm googling this but all i'm finding is that he made millions (overall) and nothing about 2500 from spotify.
