PEOPLE DON'T QUITE UNDERSTAND HOW FAST FOOD WORKS.

THE CEO AND THE CREW MEMBERS ARE NOT EVEN IN THE SAME COMPANY. THE PAY RATES FROM 1 STORE TO ANOTHER CAN VARY DRASTICALLY FOR THE SAME JOB.

ON THE STORE LEVEL THE SALARIES OF THE EMPLOYEES CAN ONLY BE SO HIGH AND THE STORE TURN A PROFIT. SALARY RAISES WILL MAKE THEM EITHER REDUCE THE WORK CREW SIZE OR UP THE PRICES FOR FOOD. PROFIT MARGINS ARE ALREADY SLIM AS IT IS.

ALL OF THIS IS NO CONCERN OF THE CEO OF THE MCDONALDS CORP.

Working can't get $15?

If the cooks & etc that are actually adding value to the operations aren't worth $15, how the hell is the CEO worth 267 times more than that?

Man, if the CEO got hit by a bus today, Nothing would change at Mcds

All the nikkas caping for corporate America in the main thread is pathetic

People on the coli don't understand the nature of economics. They try and tell you that the people doing the jobs are replaceable and the job takes no skill and that is why they should get paid next to nothing but this is not good logic. If skill and scarcity was a barometer for pay, then why are brain surgeon instructors not the highest paid people in society, why are CEO's? There is a totally different relationship between pay and "skill" or even scarcity, its a deeper economic construct that the people on the coli just don't have the background to understand, nor the attention span.

Yeah u can pay the employees 15 dollars a hour and u will have less mcdonalds or u will be paying $ 3.50 for a small fry

When are you all going to realize that shyt happens without an increase in labor costs?

Corporations are earning higher and higher profits, executive pay is outrageous (even failures walk away with tens of millions), yet, adjusted for inflation the average hourly wage for the American worker has gone up about $1.00 since 1970 compared to an inflation adjusted 7.00 between 1950 and 1970.

It's funny though. You all bytch about people getting a few hundred bucks out of the welfare system and fry cooks wanting more money but are quiet as hell about the hundreds of people that crippled the economy (most likely affecting you or some you know) walking away with tens of millions despite being complete and utter failures. Many should be in jail.

You all remind me of Joe the Plumber, will never be rich but argue the points of the wealthy, to your detriment.

What are you implying?

You said it doesnt take any skill to be a CEO, like you have been in that position before. So either you are talking out of your ass or there are numerous people qualified to be CEO that are not.

That's the name of the game.

Just to expound, the CEO does higher level management of the organization. He is responsible to make McDonald's a leader in the world, not just Pooptown, USA. It's unusual to get paid that much, but you can see that McDonald's is all around the globe and is highly competitive against Burger King and Wendy's. If McDonald's stop being number one, the CEO gets axed. Not asked. Axed.

And here's the kicker: they typically walk right into another executive job:heh:

Yes indeed.

And the people in here :cape: for capitalism don't seem to understand they are as replaceable as a fry cook. You might have the skills yes, but so do many other people who are unemployed and might be willing to work for less. Or maybe the CEO in his infinite and almighty wisdom decides to say hey, "We can combine three departments and get rid of the excess," whoops, there goes thousands of white collar jobs. Now why did that happen? Were they paying you all above market value? Were they trying to hold down the prices of goods and services as a benefit to customers and you were an unfortunate casualty? Nope. They did it because they could and the 1% at the top will benefit. You're no better than a fry cook in their eyes. In the grand scheme of things, all American employees are fry cooks so come down off your high horses.

Oh, and for the person who mentioned being replaced with teenagers, I see more and more teenagers running entire departments in retail and other service industries. They cost less and they do the job well enough to make it feasible.

BECAUSE PEOPLE WHO GET FIRED FROM MICKEY D'S DON'T GO WORK FOR BURGER KING RIGHT AFTER :shaq2:

:laff:

Are you serious right now? :russ:

So sinking an entire corporation, affecting the lives of thousands of employees in your company alone (not to count the affect on the other companies closely associated or in your sector and the consumer), fleecing said company and still walking away with tens of millions in severance is the same as getting fired from McDonald's for being short $2 and receiving nothing? Is that what you're saying right now? :sayword:

NO I'M SAYING THAT IT MAKES SENSE THAT HE WOULD GET ANOTHER JOB ON THAT LEVEL. YOU DON'T THINK A GUY WITH THOSE KINDS OF CONNECTIONS WILL JUST START OVER AND GO BACK TO WORKING AT FOOTLOCKER OR SOME shyt.

WORKING IN FAST FOOD I'VE SEEN MANAGERS WORK A FRANCHISE FOR 6 FIGURES, GET FIRED, AND REHIRED BY THE SAME FRANCHISE IN THE SAME STORE FOR MORE MONEY. THAT KIND OF shyt HAPPENS ON EVERY LEVEL OF THE GAME. IT'S JUST WITH EXECUTIVES IT'S MORE MONEY AT PLAY.
