Tell my wife I said hello.
But I'd like to think I'm more peter Parker. See both sides and feels like everyone has a point unless it's just agregious. And I tend to stay away from those threads cause they make my head hurt. Even the idea of negging someone cause they disagree with me is silly and asinine but okay I'll play ball.
A lot of cats here cape for shyt that's not that good but do it because of their nostalgia and it irrriates the hell out of me
Not all remakes are bad and some, like Friday the 13th, are better than the originals
Bad boys 2 is not a good movie
Friday after next is better than next Friday
Barbershop three is one of the best movies from last year and easily shyts on the rest of the movies in the franchise.
The term "black movie" is the dumbest shyt I've ever heard and falls right into the slavish mentality white folks want us to have but cats fall for it every time. It's a construct. Get over it.
Chris Nolan is great at damn near everything except conveying human emotion on the page and it only works when he has a strong actor to carry it out for him. Fincher shyts on him
Interstellar is still meh.
Toby is a terrible spider man and peter Parker
I've said it before but it feels more appropriate here: venom is a terrible character.
Casino is overrated. It's a lesser version of goodfellas
Hercules and emperors new groove are 10x more entertaining than the lion king which is just yet another version of hamlet.
Ridley Scott really only has three good movies to his name and he's been doing it for 30 plus years. That's damn near garbage status. He's been living off to blade runner, alien, and gladiator. And alien isn't even all him. He gets way more credit for it than he deserves.
We praise Will Smith a lot but his actual filmography is suspect as hell. From 98- present he's done a lot of head scratching shyt even though he's gotten better as an actor.
Speaking of will fresh prince of bel air is not a top 5 sitcom. Way way way too much stuff that's better than it for it to be there.
Oh and Goonies is also not a good movie. It ain't bad but it's not this great flick of the 80s VHS and Saturday evening airings has convinced us it is. It's average at best. Monster squad shyts on it something awful.
Cosign the bolded, especially.
Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Sinister Six >>>>>>>> Venom >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Carnage
Bad Boys 2 is so bad it's good to me.
I'm a fan of the Goonies, though.
The Breakfast Club is one of the GOAT teen movies, but the last 20 minutes lowkey ruined it for me. I wanted to see the nerd hooked up with the crazy girl (who looked WAY better before the makeover).
To be fair, they were trying to make it realistic, which may have been the point.
I don't buy 90 lb. actresses beating up hordes of 250 pound men in movies. If she's beating up dudes and she's built like Holly Holm, cool. If she's got perfect skin and looks like she's never fought or trained a day in her life, then
You want to have a female action hero, that's cool, but give me someone with an actual character arc and isn't an invincible Mary Sue that can do no wrong and never takes L's. Give me someone that actually looks like they know how to fight that I'd be scared of in real life. Sarah Connor and Ellen Ripley are legit, and I like the Bride. Some of these other characters though?
The Road Warrior is the only original Mad Max that I truly mess with. The first one didn't get good to me until the last 20 minutes, and the third fell off a cliff once the kids were introduced.
I hate it has to be him because I'm all for black people shining, but Bishop isn't really a great character. He's lowkey super redundant. Do we really need a THIRD time traveller from a messed up future after both Cable and Rachel Summers? IMO Rogue is the last truly great character they introduced in the comics, and the Outback-era X-men are decent (Psylocke, Dazzler, Longshot). These 90's cats (Jubliee, Gambit, Cable, ninja Psylocke) were mostly all flash and no substance (but still better than the
characters we're getting today).
Apocalypse and Sinister were never THAT great outside of the cartoon. Magneto, Hellfire Club, Juggernaut, Sentinels, Mystique and her brotherhood of evil mutants >>>>>>>
But they screwed up by turning most of their best villains into good guys, and now there's almost no one interesting left to fight.
The 90's X-men cartoon is good, but slightly overrated. Too many cats treat it like the end-all be all of everything X-men and know nothing about the actual mythos.
It focused too heavily on a lot of cheesy, 90's characters that don't really stand the test of time while guys like Nightcrawler, Colossus, Iceman, and Angel were basically cameos. Kitty Pryde never showed up once.
To the credit of the 90's show, it's still way better than the movies, it did a pretty great job with the Dark Phoenix Saga, and the theme song is GOAT.
Daredevil is the only Netflix Marvel series I've really gotten into thus far. He's lowkey one of their best written characters. Frank Miller Daredevil
I liked the first Terminator more than T2. While I acknowledge T2 as the better movie, the cheesiness and the 80's atmosphere and music of the original is just so
to me
Bart Simpson > Homer.
Bart was always my favorite. Homer is great too. Lisa was alright in the early seasons, but got way too preachy and annoying for me. Most of the other characters are shells of themselves now. (Especially Flanders, who the writers went out of their way to turn into every negative Christian stereotype ever. He was way funner when he was just a nice guy that Homer hated for no reason.)
The first eight or nine seasons of the Simpsons are some of the most classic TV ever written. Truly legendary stuff. But they should have pulled the plug on that show years ago.
