I voted MALCOM X but there should be an astrick since it was based off the book, everything else Spike had a hand in creating. Otherwise 25th Hour, School Daze and Do The Right Thing are all even to me

25th Hour was based on a book as well. and the author wrote the screenplay

I voted Clockers cause that shyt was a personal classic to me. Everything about it just hit me hard. Plus everyone in the movie reminded me of people I actually knew and even the scenes in the movie reminded me of things i had seen, it just seemed so real to me. The scene where the mother was cussing out Mekhi Phipe cause the influence he had on her son just resonated with me on a deep level.

really Spike has so many good ones though its very hard to pick. Top 5 to me,

1. Clockers
2. Do The Right Thing
3. Malcolm X
4. Mo Better Blues
5. Crooklyn

Malcolm X changed my life as a youngin ...
now that im older its hard to believe this was one of my fav movies to watch as a youngin. and when i say "youngin" i mean like 11-12 years old. i cant imagine a kid that young these days being entertained by a movie like that.

Malcolm X is arguably his greatest because of the subject matter and just how epic it was. Score, writing, denzel u couldn't lose with it. But Do the Right Thing is definitely his best cinematic work as a director and screenwriter. Gotta soft spot for Mo' Better Blues too

anyone ever wonder what norman jewison would've done with Malcolm X, or what scorsese would've done with Clockers?

*note these directors were attached to the films. I'm not throwing random shyt out

This shyt is difficult.

Do The Right Thing is vintage Spike. Inside Man didn't even seem like a Spike flick but still had me like :gladbron:. Same with 25th hour. Malcolm X and He Got Game are the type of flicks that last for generations. Imma go:

1-Malcolm X
2-Do The Right Thing
3-Inside Man
4-25th Hr
5-He Got Game
