do the characters outside of Nola have any depth? Lawerence from Insecure was a great example of having depth and them building on him opposed to him just being played and thats that like you would see on tv shows of the past. Insecure actually made people care about the other people on the show and those people had their own little worlds. I don't have a problem with this focusing on Nola only BUT I`m good on seeing dudes just get played and plead for her to want them when thats now how things go in real life.
Exactly, they pushed his character the most.To put it short, yes all of them have some type of depth as they'r all represent different aspects of Nola. But the one who's depth is most examined is Jamie Overstreet.
Is this any good
In season two I hope Spike Lee explore Jamie's and Fat Joe's relationship more.
I thought Jamie was the best male character, even though he was super corny at times. I put his age at late 30's early 40's given the age of his kid and his position at his firm.
Probably one of the best depictions of White collar Black folks I've seen in a minute. His ex's c00nery was very real, I've had middle class Black lawyers say some off the wall shyt about poor Black folks while still maintaining an ironic sense of Black pride.

This show is great.
I see why some dusty NY nikkas would have a problem with this show.
Cutting to close to home, am I right brehs?
I don't understand why the albums needs to be shown, is that some deal Spike has with the record companies or some shyt?
Ol girl is beautiful, I hope she doesn't wear the nose ring through out the show, I fukken hate that shyt.
I think a big part of why he was the best character is because he was the closest to Spike's age and Spike had a better understanding of his type. Seems like Spike was a bit out of his element handling the younger millennial characters because a lot of their dialogue sounded like twitter threads while Jamie and his wife felt the most realistic and natural
