Show is kind of like a cross between 'Insecure' and 'Master of None'.

Insecure's writing and dialouge is far sharper while 'Master of None' did a better job of story telling and was better shot.

It reminds me of Dear White People with the actors addressing the camera and the messages, just from the little bit I've seen.

Considering Insecure and Master of None all were bitten by the ORIGINAL She's Gotta Have It. I think things come full circle.

I might watch this to support black shows but tbh I'm not feeling it off episode 1. Shorty a real bust down and I don't like watching this kind of show tbh.

This extreme feminism, and polyandrous shyt is all propaganda. The spanish brother is corny, one of them is gay and the other one got other floozies and she using him as as sugar daddy. What's the overall take away? To challenge our current social views when it comes to relationships and love?

You obviously never seen the original film.

Would have preferred he did a net flix series on School daze because he could have attacked the same things but had more characters others related to so the show didnt come off as too one sided on the surface.

He’s actually had a sequel script written for School Daze for the past 10 years and he may turn it into a stage play.

I’d love for him to do an Anthology series of ten episodes for some of his early films. You could easily get ten episodes out of School Daze, Do The Right Thing, Mo Betta Blues, and Jungle Fever

Indeed I have not but my question still stands. What is the take away. Should I watch the film old head? :lolbron: The film was before my era.

You probably should... because the film and the take away from the updated version when it's all said and done is a bit more than that.

Nola is the female equivalent of a “fucc boi”
Broke
Selfish
Always starting some shyt
Inconsiderate of others
No direction
Unstable

People focus on her relationship with the dudes but, she did her girlfriend foul. You can’t just pop in and out of peoples lives like that and expect it to be all good.

This broad is emotionally unstable.
